They couldn’t have cared less.

We had a nice sunrise this cold morning.

We had a nice sunrise this cold morning.

So I drove to the garage this morning before I went to the vehicle inspection and once again they turned of that light and once again it started to shine as soon as I drove in to the inspection πŸ™‚ They couldn’t care less about it, didn’t even mention it. They did however find a few problems like a rusty break pipe that needs to be changed and since they found that they also say I need to change that extra break light I have at the top of my boot lid. Normally it doesn’t matter if that one works since it is an extra but since they found that rusty pipe I need to get that fixed too. They also found a broken light bulb in one of the blinkers. All lights have now broken I think. I’ve changed them one by one and the garage changed one extra yesterday and this morning that blinkers died too πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

So I have a new appointment at the garage next Tuesday but he wasn’t sure he could borrow me a car then, his daughters might need it. Well I’m not the one to complain about taking an extra day of from work πŸ™‚ The weather predictions says fairly nice weather and fairly warm but we all know how predictions are,Β treacherous as best πŸ™‚ So after that I’ll have to go to the inspection again and if everything holds I won’t have to worry about that for another year. I’ll soon be worrying about changing to winter tires, I have the tires but not the rims πŸ™‚

Do You remember when I told You about how they had connected my laptop internet with my mobile phone internet so that the data I pay for was used way too early? How they had given me a new phone number as well and that I was fairly confused about it all?! It turns out they complicated things a bit more after they called to see what I thought about the whole deal. Suddenly I seem to have yet another phone number connected to my mobile phone and they have disconnected the connection between the old laptop connection with the mobile phone connection. That I didn’t know or mind but they sort of forgot to tell me πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚Β

I learned that when the bill came and I had loads of numbers πŸ™‚ I called the phone and internet company that uses the business I made the deal with (I think they own it actually) and they sorted out the mess as good as they could. I still have those extra numbers but won’t use them since they all are connected to my mobile phone and it seems I have double the amount of data to use every month in my laptop. To make this work I got a new sim card and today I have around 20GB to spend until it all starts all over tomorrow since it is a new month. I’ll never even speak to that business that created this mess again!

We had frost here this morning but not much of it stuck to the plants outside and it wasn’t cold enough to kill especially many insects. So I saw a few butterflies and a few troll spindles (the swedish name on dragonflies) today on our walk after the inspection. Unfortunately I also saw a few mosquitoes. I killed four moose flies after our walk in the forest yesterday so I’ve decided I won’t go in there especially much until their season is over which would have been around now but it is so nice weather that I think they’ll hang on for some time more.

I’m still waiting for those film rolls I’ve ordered but they didn’t have the color films in stock so it might take some time until they come. I hope they will before this week ends though, it would be so fun to try the camera. I’ll write down all adjustments I do for every photo so I’ll know how to change it in the future if the photos come out bad or if they come out good I know not to change anything πŸ™‚ It’s time for a pot of tea and then some relaxation, I was so stressed while sitting and waiting at the inspection that my hands trembled and I almost spilled out the free coffee they give us πŸ™‚

I drove to the garage yesterday to leave my car there and to borrow the one from the garage which incidentally was almost the same car I have. Much newer but I must say I didn’t like it especially much, can’t put my finger on it though. There was plenty of petrol in it but as I drove homewards I could see how the meter rather quickly sank downwards. Still lots of petrol this morning when I drove to work though but as I parked the car at my space I only had that part called the reserve marked red on the meter.

I’m pretty sure this is One eyed Rune.

DSC_0006

I thought that either did this car drink petrol as an alcoholic drinks booze or there must be a leak somewhere. As soon as I drove out from the parking spot that red light started to shine. I figured I would have enough to go to the garage though so I started to drive away. Suddenly the red light stopped shining and then the meter moved upwards again so that I had almost as much petrol in the tank as I had in the beginning πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I can’t say I felt less stressed πŸ™‚ It started to drop again as soon as I came close to the garage. The owner said that a previous customer had told him that the meter had behaved odd when he had it and he had forgotten to tell me that πŸ™‚

DSC_0008

DSC_0009

DSC_0010

My car was ready and I had driven almost two meters (much the same in yards) when the engine light started to shine again πŸ™‚ He took it directly and I stood there watching how he turned that light of and I drove to the store nearby to get some cat and dog food. As soon as I had started to drive homewards the light started to shine again πŸ™‚ I know there is no problem with my car, I saw when the computer told us so, still that bloody light shines like a lonely star in the night sky! He told me to come by before I’ll go to the inspection if the light started to behave badly again, so I will. But he has an employee that said that they have given up on those engine lights at the inspection since they always shine but he couldn’t remember if the year my car was built belonged to those they just didn’t care about if the light shone. He thought it was up to -01 and mine is a -00.

DSC_0012

DSC_0013

DSC_0015

So all I can do is to go to the garage tomorrow and after that hope for the best πŸ™‚ The only thing wrong with that car is that tiny light that just keep shining all the time πŸ™‚ My dogs and I walked out to the bog when I came home and guess what, there are still some moose flies left and I think we got most of them with us home. I have killed two or three that was walking around on my head and neck already and it feels like there might be one more. It could be my imagination too, they are truly nasty so as soon as I feel something I believe it is one of those.

It’s time for a pot of tea and then something to eat. I can sleep for long tomorrow if my dogs allow me to but I guess they won’t. I took the day off as I always do when it is time for the annual inspection, I’m so stressed even if I know there’s nothing wrong with the car that I rarely am useful at work anyway and now that little light just shines πŸ™‚ By the way! Someone asked if there was any spaniel in Sune because it looked like that. Yes there is a lot of spaniel in him, 50% actually πŸ™‚ His mother is an English hunting Cocker Spaniel. Hunting Cocker Spaniels doesn’t follow any of those rules about how a Cocker Spaniel should look, the only thing hat matters is how good they hunt. So his mother is a rather tiny dog 15 kg (around 33 pound) with very short ears. His father on the other hand is a Bernese Mountain dog, more than three times as big πŸ™‚ An accident and the mother didn’t suffer even if her puppies were very big πŸ™‚

Really bad connection today.

Todays photos are a mix from both yesterday and today.

Todays photos are a mix from both yesterday and today.

I don’t know why though, perhaps it’s because of the strong winds we’ve had during the night? So it takes a long time to download any photos if they download at all. Too bad because today I have lots of autumn colors in them. It’s much warmer than predicted, just as warm as it was yesterday which isn’t that good when it comes to my indoor climate. I started the fire early this morning and now it’s hot as h… here. I had both a window and the kitchen door open for a while, besides from helping nothing it also let lots of mosquitoes in and now I have tiny blood stains all over my home πŸ™‚ They might drink our blood but I’m not letting them out with it πŸ™‚

I’ve just come home after getting a replacement car from the garage. It’s time for the annual vehicle inspection and that engine light still shines like a tiny star in the dark. That’s not allowed so it must be dealt with before the inspection. It doesn’t matter that there isn’t any alarm starting it, it is still not allowed during the inspection. The garage owner is a kind man so he said to call today so I could get the car now and not miss that much from work. I said that they are happy if I show up at all while my car is at the garage and that I just could wait until Monday morning but he insisted. Guess what kind of car the replacement car is? It is almost the same car I have, a SAAB 95 πŸ™‚ I don’t like this one though, it’s something about it that I just can’t put my finger on.

I don’t know what You are like but I can’t stand it when people tell me something, a story or joke or memory and they never come to the end because they always want to put in irrelevant things in to it. Like suddenly get lost in however the person was slightly older or younger than himself or if he had a sister living in a village no one ever have heard of πŸ™‚ I could take it if he, because it is usually a he, told me that this particular sister had a thing for stuffed porcupines and jelly fish but that she stopped collecting stuffed porcupines after one fell down from a cupboard and hit her in the head. That would at least have been funny πŸ™‚ I have a few people like that around me, the kindest people there is and I’ve noticed that I tend to snap at them if they do this too much. I feel so mean but I only have this life and it would be fun to hear the end of the story before I retire in 17 years or so πŸ™‚

A quite nice morning here.

DSC_0002

Taken through my kitchen window so it is a bit blurry.

Everyone but me is sleeping. We’ve all already had our breakfast and we’ve had our morning walk so it is a perfect time to take a small nap, I’ll have mine after doing this. We’re having a quite nice morning, it’s just enough warm with sunshine and a slightly strong wind. I guess it’s much stronger outside this area sinceΒ I live slightly lower down than the surroundings and the forest do take a lot of it too.

Nova’s ear still look a bit red on the inside but she doesn’t flap her ears any longer so I do hope this is over for this time. I bought that ridiculously expensive food to her so that she would continue to eat and now she’s decided she doesn’t like it. She refuse to eat anything if she get even a single piece of it in her food πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Orvar can’t eat it since his stomach gets rebellious so Sune and Hector shares it happily πŸ™‚

I tried my new camera on the tripod I already have here at home, the tripod is actually too weak to carry any of my modern cameras steadily, it’s the joint at the top that makes it possible to lean the camera at any angle that can’t hold any weight. But it turns out that this camera together with at least the small lens (that weighs 9hg, 2,1 pound) is so well-balanced that the camera didn’t tip over at all πŸ™‚ I have to say I got rather surprised since it is much heavier than any of my other cameras.

So all I can do now is to wait for that film to arrive, it’ll come some time next week and since I want lots of time to try to take any photos I’ll most likely not take a single photo until next Friday. After that I’ll have to send the film to a developer and it will take about a week until I can see any result πŸ™‚ I will show You that first photo no matter how it looks πŸ™‚ I might have to buy a light meter too but I’ll try to use one of the other cameras to help me with the settings on this one, I must read more about that until I can start using it.

What You all been waiting for :-)

DSC_0002

They’re having the first autumn storm further north in this country, we have strong winds bt far from storm and we’ve also had rain most of the day. It’s that kind of rain that is like mist and eats its way in to the body in seconds, especially with lots of help from the wind. I do like windy days, especially now when it blows away most of the mosquitoes πŸ™‚ It didn’t reach in to the forest though so we had to fight our way through a wall of them on our way out to the bog.

DSC_0003

DSC_0004

DSC_0005

I have a fire in the stove, not because it’s cold, far from it actually, but the dampness eats its way in to my cottage now when the wind blows so hard. I do like days like this when the wind bends the trees and leafs fly by my windows and I can hear the sound from the fire, all I need right now is some cocoa and a couple of cheese sandwiches πŸ™‚ I won Β dollars in the lottery this Wednesday but I didn’t buy myself any soft ice cream today, I’ll save that for a sunny day instead. I could have bought some chocolate but I forgot most of what I wanted to buy anyway, even if I actually had a written list with me πŸ™‚

DSC_0006

DSC_0008

DSC_0011

So now to the thing You all have been waiting for πŸ™‚ I drove to the post office (in the grocery store in Gudhem) and I opened the package as soon as I sat down in the car. It’s very fine even though it is rather old. Not as heavy as I thought it would be though. Once this brand was seen as the Rolls Royce of its kind and they still are to be honest. A new one of this brand would cost me three months pay if I didn’t pay any bills and didn’t eat either and that’s the cheapest one they sell πŸ™‚ To use this one will take much longer time, will be much more complicated and I’ll have to wait for the result for at least a week or so πŸ™‚

DSC_0014

DSC_0016

DSC_0019

Some of this brand actually made it to the moon and one became the first satellite made in Sweden, by mistake since an astronaut dropped it on a space walk πŸ™‚ I have bought myself a Hasselblad camera (some of You guessed that but also took it back again πŸ™‚ ). The model is called 500C and was made until 1970. I don’t think it can be called antique but vintage is probably right. I think I have the big picture when it comes to how it works even though it is a bit complicated πŸ™‚ I forgot to open it up at the top when I took the photo but if one does one see that there’s where they have placed the view finder. I have to say it would be easier to have the kind of viewfinder we have on todays modern cameras because it must be hard to get a clear photo this way.

DSC_0022

DSC_0024

DSC_0025

I have found two businesses that sells both film and develop it too. I’ll also get a cd with the photographs and I can choose how many MB I want the photographs to contain. However, this camera uses a not especially common film called 120 (common when it comes to really old cameras and is called medium format film). These older cameras can be a bit slow but if one just place new grease in it, which is said to be very easy) it’ll go back to normal again. I thought I might need a light meter to be able to take photographs but I realised that the viewfinder get lighter or darker when I adjust the lens.Β

DSC_0029

DSC_0030

DSC_0031

I can also tell You already now that this is not the camera one uses to take a quick photograph with πŸ™‚ It might be a fantastic camera but it is not user-friendly πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I found a manual on the internet and I’ll be reading that very carefully, it’s in English. So it will take some time until I can show You any result I’m afraid. I’ve ordered five film rolls with color film and one in black and white. I can’t take good photos in black and white so I’ll use that first to see how the camera works πŸ™‚

DSC_0043

Here it is πŸ™‚ The lenses weigh around 2,1-2,2 pound each but I think the camera weighs slightly less πŸ™‚ All adjustments are made on the lens and not the camera itself and the film is put in the back half of the camera which one take off and place the film in. Before one is able to take a photo a thin metal lid must be removed (slided out on the side) before the camera allows ant photo taking πŸ™‚

I wanted to cry a little.

DSC_0002

I’m late and I’m really hungry so this will be a short one. The first thing I bought has arrived and is waiting for me at the post office and I’ll bring it home tomorrow. I could have got it today but I wanted (well that’s not really the right thing to say πŸ™‚ ) to pay my bills after work today.

This is one of those months when all bills comes at the same time and I wanted to cry a little when I paid them all πŸ™‚ In total I’ll pay as much in bills as I paid for my birthday present, a lot with other words πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ No problems to be honest since I put away money for these bills but still, it hurts in my soul πŸ™‚

The Bog Ladies seems busy today. It is a bit damp and cold so I do understand why they lit their fires early.

All I’ll say about my present is that it weighs much more than I thought it would even if I knew it would weigh more. It will take longer time to use it and it is much more complicated than if I would use the modern thing I already have πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ but I’ve wanted this since I was a kid and now the opportunity came. To be honest, I don’t understand how it works even if I already have read a manual πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

They don’t die just because we have frost.

DSC_0002

As predicted the temperature dropped last night and it dropped all the way down to -5C (23F). It was too dark outside to get any photos I’m afraid but I can tell You that the world was sparkling in the weak light we did have. I also had to scrape the car windows but thankfully it wasn’t any concrete ice this time. The only good thing with scraping ice from the car windows is that they do get clean, especially the one in the back πŸ™‚

One could believe that these low temperatures actually would kill all the insects out there but oh how disappointed one would be when it got warm again πŸ™‚ Still a few normal black flies around but it seems as if most moose flies are gone. They do have a short season as it is and it usually ends with the first frost. Mosquitoes however seems to thrive when the nights are as cold as this one was. There were a gazillion of them out in the forest and even if it doesn’t itch any longer I still don’t like it when they crawl around all over me.

I didn’t buy myself a second one of the first one I bought to myself as a birthday present, instead I bought a second one of the second one, smaller though and lighter though (I hope πŸ™‚ ) and now I’ve spent much more than I ever intended too πŸ™‚ So no christmas present to me from myself this year.I still haven’t gotten the first thing I bought but I have the second one here at home and the second of the second thing is on its way since this morning :-)These things are used together but I can only use one of the second things at a time πŸ™‚ I feel that I’ve given You plenty of leads now πŸ™‚

I wonder.

DSC_0001

I wonder if tonight won’t be the first night with frost. I can feel it in the air, a kind of raw, nasty feeling that screams COLD COLD COLD! Just after I wrote that I checked the predictions and they too say frost tonight, not desperate cold though, just enough to kill all the dahlias I have out there. I will most likely have to scrape the car windows tomorrow morning too I’m afraid. The good thing however is that lots of moose flies will die and hopefully some mosquitoes too but they are a tough crowd that needs more than a light frost to give up.

Lots of small birds were flying in the sun, shining like silver and I was trying to get them in a photo. Nomatter how I tried none of them showed in the photo. Only this one shows a tiny bird in the middle of the photo.

The rain was so heavy last night that the sound made it hard to fall asleep πŸ™‚ I guess it might have been thunder in that sound too because it sure looked and sounded like thunder showers. It kept on raining until way in to today and only just before I drove homewards the sun showed itself. It never got ant warmer than 10C (50F) so the first thing I did after coming home after our walk was to start a fire in the stove. Even the fire seemed to think it was a bit too cold to use any energy to actually do something πŸ™‚ But now finally it burns nicely in there and I hope the heat soon will have spread to the entire cottage.

The first part of my own birthday gift has arrived and it was heavy, I wonder how much the mailman fought with that parcel to get it down in to my mailbox and still have room for the rest of the mail πŸ™‚ Some letters were squeezed at the bottom but it turned out to be junk mail so I didn’t care. Now I’m just waiting for that second part to arrive so I can tell You what it is πŸ™‚ From what I understand is the second part even heavier and it will not fit in my mailbox, that’s for sure πŸ™‚ I have serious thoughts of buying myself Β my christmas present already now too but if I do I can’t buy a single thing I want for the rest of the year :-). It’s much the same as the first thing I bought as my present but “more modern” and even heavier πŸ™‚ But it might be something else similar to the second part instead.

They don’t know it’s not their season to flower now.

There’s a fire burning in the stove, not so much because my home is especially cold but because there’s a dampness outside that manages to break in like an unwanted thief in the middle of the night. It’s 10C (50F) outside and that is about what we’ll get today they say. The raining has already started some so that’s my excuse not to even try to mow the lawn today πŸ™‚ The only chore I have is to do the laundry and I don’t have that much so it’ll be done rather quickly.

They had promised fog for this morning and it rolled on already last evening, for a while it was so thick that I couldn’t see the lights from my neighbors houses. I had hoped for some nice foggy photos from the bog but instead I got some hazy photos from the fields.Β

The birds seem to love this weather because they have been chattering a lot all morning. We’ve had rather quiet mornings here until now and it is a nice change. The mosquitoes seem to love this weather too and now I’m so bitten that I can’t feel the itching any longer, that’s a nice change too πŸ™‚ It must be the same with the dogs and cats too because I can see how many mosquitoes that sits on them while we’re outside but none of them scratches themselves any longer. Lots of mosquitoes mean lots of food for the birds so they can build up a layer of fat for the coming winter so I guess it’s a win-win situation πŸ™‚

I haven't seen many deers this summer and I think that's because they don't seem to like cattle and we've had lots of cattle around this summer.

I decided it was time to start the greenhouse lamp in the cellar yesterday and to pick down the more sensitive plants I have in pots and those I really want to survive the winter, like my Sharon fruit tree. Well it should have been a tree by now but the frost managed to kill most of it two autumns ago, the roots and a small part of the stem survived so now it’s more like a bush πŸ™‚ It looks like it’s possible to take cuttings and root them in moist soil so I might have two more next spring πŸ™‚ That is if I don’t manages to kill them down in the cellar of course πŸ™‚

He can eat the most disgusting things while we are out walking and nothing happens (well he does get a wobbly stomach sometimes and those times the things he has been eating is so disgusting that I don’t want to know what it was πŸ™‚ ) but the slightest change in his normal diet and his stomach goes berserk πŸ™‚ I bought that expensive food to mix with the ordinary so that Nova would start eating properly again, of course I must give all of them some and Orvar reacted directly. I’m so glad Nova wakes me up when he needs to go outside πŸ™‚ So once again I have boiled lots of rice to put in Orvars food πŸ™‚

So how did it go in the Swedish elections You might wonder since I said I would tell You last Thursday. It didn’t go at all πŸ™‚ The only winner was the racists party. The government lost clearly but the opposition didn’t really win to be honest. The Social Democrats got more or less the same result as last election and so did the Left (former communists) The Environmental part had been rather cocky before the election and said they would be the third largest party, oh how wrong they were πŸ™‚ They became smaller than before and no one but themselves are surprised. Moderaterna( the conservative) lost almost 30% of their votes and the smaller right-wing parties stayed more or less at the same point as they were before. The racists however is now the third biggest party with almost 13% of our votes and are now the tip of the scale. Especially since the right-wing parties are very hesitant with cooperating with the coming middle to left government. Most of us are guessing we soon will have a new election, one tat most likely won’t solve a thing.

Scotland voted no for independence from Great Britain and since I don’t live there I have no idea if that’s a good thing for them or not but I was surprised to know that any person living in Scotland that also is a citizen of the European Union was allowed to participate in the voting. I think that’s a bit strange to be honest, I understand that any British citizen living in Scotland could vote but Swedes and French people? I’m not sure I would like any people not even a citizen in my own country would be allowed to vote in such an important question if anything similar was going on here. Am I wrong doYouΒ think?

I think I’ll take a walk in the fog again now when there’s lots of light. Hopefully it’s so cold that the moose flies stay calm if we go to the bog. I’m so tired of finding them hiding in my clothes, especially since it can be hours since I even was close to home. After that I’ll start a fire in the stove unless the sun has started to shine again.

I bought the second part today.

Bertil was evil towards the dogs last week, very odd since he really loves them, so I tossed him out and said he couldn't come in again until he could behave. Not unusual here but it's always me he has been nasty to, never the dogs. Now both my neighbor and I think it might have been their cat, Salmiak I tossed out :-) :-) :-)

Novas ear looked a bit worse this morning so I cleaned it up and after that she was so grumpy that she refused to eat her food, even if it had lost of her favorite food in it. The ear looked so much better now when I came home and she ate the food she didn’t eat this morning without any hesitation πŸ™‚ I’ve promised her not to touch the ear any more today so I hope she wants the food they soon are going to get. I bought that second part to my birthday gift to myself after work today. There was only one and I had to ask the seller something before I bought it. I asked yesterday, got an answer early this morning and then bought it as soon as I got home so I have tos ay that it went faster than I thought it would! Both parts should arrive next week, perhaps at the same time too and hopefully to the same post office too πŸ™‚ One never knows here in the countryside πŸ™‚

They say it will be colder from next Monday so I went to the super market on my way home today and bought several packages of fire logs. They’ll most likely last for a long time since I’ll only start the fire after work. But It’s always nice to have some of those packages at home. This year I also have fire wood since the old plum tree and apple tree I cut down two years ago have dried by now. I still need to chop it all up in smaller pieces before I put it in the stove. It would probably last almost a week in deep winter if I only used that so I’ll use it when I want that nice smell from the fire πŸ™‚

I didn’t have high hopes for this day to be honest. I was tired already before I went to work and I knew we were going to paint things I don’t like to paint but I must admit, even if I don’t like it, that the day just ran away and time passed so fast that it felt like I only had been there a few hours when I drove homewards again. I did forget to bring any dinner and I did also forget to order any. But I didn’t try to eat any almost ripe apples again πŸ™‚ I drove to the grocery store and bought myself dinner instead πŸ™‚

Nova is much better in her ear but she still doesn’t show much of an appetite. I think, to be honest, that she is just fishing for sympathy and looks like she rather would starve to death than eat the food she normally eats without hesitation πŸ™‚ So I bought her favorite food while I was in the store. It’s so expensive that our petrol prices seems low when comparing πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I can of course not only give her that food so they all get enough of it so it gives its flavour to theΒ normalΒ food I mix it with. I bought myself a birthday present just before I started writing here, I won’t tell You what it is until it arrives but it’s actually only half of what I need πŸ™‚ I might get the other half already tonight if I’m lucky πŸ™‚ I know this sounds cryptic but You’ll understand what I mean the day I’ll tell You what it is πŸ™‚ I can tell You this much, it is rather expensive ( well that all depends on what economy one has, Bill gates would probably spend this on a lunch πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ ) but then again, how often do one have ones 50th birthday πŸ™‚Β

The mosquitoes have a second spring now, I haven’t seen or felt this many the entire year. It was so long since the bit me that the immunity of the itching thing is gone so now my feet itch like crazy πŸ™‚ We also have more moose flies than in a long time so now we don’t even go safe from them by the fields. I’ve brought several of them with me to work and I kill some every evening here in my cottage. I do prefer the mosquitos even if it is itching like he.. right now πŸ™‚

I’ve never been to that concert hall but I’ve heard it’s really nice and lots of our biggest stars go there when they are on tour. The Gothenburg Opera is there regularly and also the ballet. I have a paid day of from work today since it is my half century birthday. I had planned to go to a cafΓ© to have a pot of coffee and a Budapest pastry or if they wouldn’t have that some Swedish Schwarzwald cake. The original Schwarzwald cake is a chocolate cake and the Swedish one is a nut meringues cake. But instead I spent some time at the vet office. Nova has a really bad ear infection this time. We stopped the latest treatment on Thursday and she was back to her happy self again but then on the night towards Saturday she started flapping her ears so bad that she woke me up in the middle of the night.

So I cleaned her ears and started the treatment again. As soon as I had done that she stopped flapping er ears and everything seemed ok. At least until yesterday afternoon when Sune showed a too big interest in her right ear. I thought it was because of his intense licking her ear was soaked but it turns out that puss was running out of the ear. So now she takes really strong pills for ten days and after that I’ll continue with the other stuff we already have used.Β

They have never used computers in this vet station but that is now a demand and all nurses must from now on have a license. His nurses have worked there for ages and knows very well what to do, when to do it and how. So until they get that license they aren’t allowed to work as animal nurses. I would trust them with my animal’s life but that counts for nothing I’m afraid.

Elections here today.

Very foggy this morning, much like our politicval situation this year.

Very foggy this morning, much like our political situation this year.

Today is election day here in Sweden. Every fourth year we vote for the leadership of the parliament, region and county (if one is a Swedish citizen for all three, if not only for the county and region) and I went away early this morning to give my votes. This year is a tricky one, we’ll most likely get a new government but then again we did think that last time too and they still sort of won. I write sort of because they are a minority government and they have lost almost all important votes in the parliament these last four years. They refuse to negotiate with any other party in the parliament (there are 8 of them right now) and those few times they’ve won it’s been because our racist party (well they don’t call themselves that, they just want to stop all immigration and deport anyone not Swedish enough). have liked their ideas.

DSC_0012

DSC_0013

DSC_0014

The problem for the opposition has been just the same, they have only been able to win if they’ve had that racist party on their side. None of them says they ever would work or negotiate with that party but they all still depend on how that party votes. The problem could easily be solved by the government if they just could negotiate with the biggest opposition party but they refuse and they say they’ll continue like that if they lose this election. Sounds a bit like the Republican party in the USA, doesn’t it? They would rather see this country go the same way as the southern European countries than to actually be responsible. The left side however is not so much better even if the biggest opposition party wants to negotiate with any party besides the racist one.

DSC_0020

DSC_0021

DSC_0024

The opposition (left wing parties) is a mess too, The biggest party, the Social democratic workers party or Socialdemokraterna as we say once was the government and won the elections for 40 years I think it was. But since none of the four government parties wants to negotiate with them they only have two other parties to negotiate with, the Environmental party (MiljΓΆpartiet) and the left VΓ€nsterpartiet, former communists). So a vote on Socialdemokraterna is also a vote for the environmentalists and many don’t want that. The environmentalists politics will kill the countryside I’m afraid because they will make it so expensive to live here that only rich people and big farmers will be able to afford to live here.

I've heard of dancing on somones grave but never feeding.

I’ve heard of dancing on someones grave but never feeding.

DSC_0027

DSC_0028

The odd thing is that it’s the opposite to what they really want!!! They want smaller ecological farms and a living countryside but they will make it so expensive to drive a car that no one will be able to stay here. No one can actually live on the income from a small ecological farm so they must have a job beside the farm. So how will they be able to go to work if they can’t afford to drive there. We have lousy public transports here, I for instance have 5km (3,11 miles) to the nearest bus stop and I have two rheumatic diseases. I can’t go straight to work via bus, first I’ll go to the closest town to change bus to one that passes the village where I work and go rather far south to change to a bus that goes to the village where I work. I’ll be at work at the time I must turn and go back home again πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ They tend to forget that we don’t have it like they have in big cities where there’s a new bus, train or tram every five minutes, here the bus goes once an hour πŸ™‚ I can also see myself walking the road to the bust stop in a snow storm πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

DSC_0032

DSC_0033

DSC_0035

There’s another thing making this election rather interesting, there’s a new party in the block. They call themselves Feministic initiative. Until this summer they had around 2% of the votes but suddenly they might reach the 4% that is needed to get in to the parliament. The only person in that party that any of us really know is the former leader of the Left party (VΓ€nsterpartiet). She is a very charismatic politician that we all like or hate. She once made the old communist party the third biggest part in this country and not because of the politics but because we like her πŸ™‚ She was tossed out of the party because she tried to get rid of the communist part and tried to make it a very left party instead. I doubt most people voting for her actually knows what the party stands for, it looks like it is a party to the left side and they look at any political issue from a feminist point of view. They want total equality between men and women and from what I’ve read it looks just fine. Sweden already is the most equal country in the world but that doesn’t mean it is an equal country.

DSC_0038

DSC_0041

DSC_0042

The government is an alliance between four parties. The biggest one, Moderaterna (conservatives) is bigger than the three other together and the smaller parties really have very little to say. Moderaterna call themselves the new Labour party and people fell for it πŸ™‚ They lowered the taxes so much that our social security net fell apart, We are still waiting for them to get the Nobel Price in Medicine because they decided that no one can be sick for more than a year, after that You are healthy and can work or if You can’t You’re just lazy and should be punished. For a while dying cancer patients were forced to search for a job or go back to their old one. One of those patients died one week after being forced back. That has been changed though, it doesn’t look good on Your resume if You force dying people to work. They of course blamed the insurance company (we have just one big one when it comes to work and health issues) but it was the government that made those rules!

DSC_0043

DSC_0044

DSC_0047

The three other parties in the government are Centern (no one really knows what their ideology is) Folkpartiet (The Liberals) and Kristdemokraterna (Christian democrats). Centern once was the party for the people living in the countryside but suddenly they decided the big cities were more important and sort of spat in the face of their old supporters. The big city folks did however not care about that party so now they’ve tried to come back as a countryside party again. Not very successful though, they are always close to be too small to be in the parliament. Folkpartiet was once a big party but no matter what they’ve done the party has become smaller and smaller and they live dangerously close to that 4% they need to get in to the parliament. They have been playing with the Swedish school system for eight years now and we have now the worst schools in the entire Europe. The school is so bad that many student starting in the Universities don’t know enough mathematic to manage any education there.Β

DSC_0049

DSC_0050

DSC_0052

Then we have Kristdemokraterna. They have sort of sold their soul to be able to stay in the parliament and the power πŸ™‚ The founders were once right-wing Christians and they are most likely rotating fast in their graves now days πŸ™‚ Think of any Christian point of view and they have betrayed the founders wishes πŸ™‚ They too live dangerously close to those 4%. Β So no matter how we all vote today we’ll have problems πŸ™‚ We can continue to have the same government we have now and they’ll lose any important vote in the parliament. The opposition can win and they too will be a minority government with the former government parties refusing to negotiate with them and the two other parties not big enough to help them and one of them would gladly kill the countryside with the best of intentions πŸ™‚

This is one of those days that I have no energy to do anything. I’ve taken a long nap but that didn’t help and we’ve been out walking but that didn’t help either. Tea doesn’t work nor does reading, so all I have left to try is to make a big pot of coffee, if that doesn’t help I might as well just go back to bed and sleep away this day. I have however washed all socks I could find because I had no clean ones except for ankle socks and I truly dislike those and bought some by mistake two years ago.

These were very popular when I grew up in the sixties and seventies, after that most of them fell appart. Now it seems the few that still are around is being restored again. Odd wings on this one though :-)

My vet has sold his business and three young ones have taken over, I learned that today when I went there to get a new prescription on Hector’s and Orvars medicine. The old vet will stay for some time of course but I didn’t meet him today, instead I met one of the new, a young woman. To be a vet is to take care of the animal and the owner so it is very important that the owners likes the vet from the first second. I then said that all veterinarians here do like that she looked at me for a long time and wrote that I should have the horse variety πŸ™‚ I didn’t lie, all vets do like that here since they know we have other things in life to do that to run to the vet for prescriptions πŸ™‚ The woman in the pharmacy was a bit surprised too about the vets reaction, all vets do like that she said πŸ™‚ I’ll give them one more chance to convince me to go there, if they fail I’ll go to the vet I was this summer here in FalkΓΆping. We’re having the election to our parliament on Sunday and the parties are doing their best to convince us to vote for them. They are all now competing in who will raise the taxes the most to restore the social security net the latest government has destroyed during the eight years they’ve had the power. Even the conservatives wants to raise our taxes a lot because they finally understood that we rather have high taxes and a good social security net than low taxes and no net at all πŸ™‚ Then weΒ have the racist party that not only wants to raise the taxes, they also want to toss out all immigrants. There’s a problem with that of course, when is one counted as a true Swede and when is one counted as an immigrant πŸ™‚ I am for instance counted as a second generation immigrant (didn’t know that until last year when I did that DNA test πŸ™‚ ) am I allowed to stay or must I move to the former Yugoslavia πŸ™‚ More about that some time in the weekend.Β

Todays photos are from both yesterday and today and both mornings were very foggy.

If You only learn one thing in life, learn this. Never eat eight almost ripe apples on an empty stomach, You’ll have to pay for it later. I learned this lesson on Tuesday when I worked over time and forgot to bring dinner and also forgot to order any at work. No problems I thought, I’ll have some apples so I’ll last the day. There’s an old orchard belonging to the factory and even if the trees are almost dead now they still give lots of apples. We can pick and eat as many as we wish and since I had my dogs with me I really didn’t went to go to the store to buy something, we only have a 30 minute lunch break.

I didn’t get hungry so they did that part right, the apples I mean πŸ™‚ But then yesterday morning it all started. I think my stomach had a near death experience and it is still rather wobbly. I don’t have many seconds from when I feel I must rush to the bathroom until it is too late πŸ™‚ but it is better than it was this morning. I should have stayed at home today but all three painters needed to be there since we have some things that need us all, especially since the painting machines don’t work as they should. I’m so glad it’s Friday tomorrow πŸ™‚

The painting machines only works on manual mode and barely then to be honest. But they will come and do a total renovation on them but not until November 13th and 14th with the possibility that they’ll need the weekend too. It seems nothing has been working as it should since many years back and it’s pure luck that it has worked for so long as it has πŸ™‚ I doubt that it will hold together until then though so we have started to fix the old painting box and the old equipment too, just in case πŸ™‚ It’ll be a fun job to clean out that box after a year or when all kinds of dust has filled it up πŸ™‚

I’m pretty sure that Orvar one day will kill me, totallyΒ unconsciously but still he will kill me. I don’t know how he does it but suddenly he just stands behind me and when I turn around and tries to walk way I fall over him. Or like now when I stood up from the chair meaning to go to my pot of tea and realises that he’s lying just beside me when I stumble on him. I mean, he’s a big dog and he shouldn’t be able to just be there without me knowing it πŸ™‚

One drawback of having four black dogs is that they are impossible to see in the dark. Like when I’m going to bed and think the big boys are sleeping downstairs, Nova in my bed and Sune beside me. I can’t turn on the light in my bedroom until I reach my bed so there’s about four meters (much the same in yards) of total darkness (in autumn and winter) before I can see anything. Nine times out of ten Hector sleeps beside the chimney, which I have to pass on my way to my bed. It’s hard to see where to fall best too when it is ark and I also scare the poor dog. One could think that any of us would learn one day that this most likely will happen, every night but oh no πŸ™‚

Only one of all the dogs that I’ve had living with me has been black, she was a Golden Retriever mix and had that deep golden color that I love so much. To be honest, most of my dogs has been born in my home and since their mothers and fathers been black it’s no surprise they too was born black. Nova was an emergency move so I didn’t choose that color and Sune was the only male dog in that litter and I wanted a male one and once I had met him I just couldn’t look after another dog πŸ™‚

I’ve never understood people who say no to a dog because of its color?! I’m not a superstitious person and I doubt that the color has anything to do with how a dog turns out or that the color in any way would affect my life, well beside tripping over them in the dark πŸ™‚ I’ve also had a few black cats and they have been just wonderful, no one ever even close to be as nasty as Bertil the cat usually is πŸ™‚

I’ve done my chores for the day, the laundry that is and now it’s hanging outside in the sunshine and wind to dry. We’re having another rather wonderful day here, the wind is perhaps a bit strong but I don’t mind. The troll spindles (the Swedish name on dragonflies for those of You that doesn’t know that) flies around outside my open kitchen door catching the flies that seems to love hanging around there and in my kitchen. It’s tha big kind so I hope at least one of them can sit down and relax for just a short moment so I can get a photo or two of it.

One of my neighbors honeybees insisted on going in to my kitchen the other day, I got her out after a while just to see her trying to get inside again. The last time she did this I told her that I would have a chat with her owner if she didnΒ΄t stop this and finally she went away πŸ™‚ Yes all honeybees are females and sisters to the queen. The males only live for a short time, until they have done what they are supposed to. After that they are either killed or pushed out from the hive, left to starve to death. It’s the same with Bumblebees, wasps and ants too. So it is rather surprising that when they do animated movies with these animals they always make them male πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

My neighbor walked by this morning and told me he had met my little friend from the forest and I knew exactly what he was talking about πŸ™‚ He had been sitting in one of the hunting towers when suddenly that huge wild boar had walked towards him. It had been watching him from all angles and then he slowly had walked in to the forest again. I wonder if he understood that the rifle my neighbor had brought was too small to kill him? They are truly smart so I wouldn’t be surprised if he actually understood that. I do like it when more people than I see this huge animal because I will always be the one from the big city and most likely exaggerate the size on any animal I see πŸ™‚

He said that he once had seen a boar that had weighed 120kg (around 265 pound) and that one had been much smaller than our friend πŸ™‚ So he guessed that our boar might weigh up to 170Kg (around 375 pound) πŸ™‚ Normally all hunters unload their rifles when walking home from a hunt but yesterday both he and his hunting friend didn’t just in case they would meet the boar again πŸ™‚ But I’ve read that it isn’t these big ones we have to worry about, they know their strength and what they can do to us and they know we know too. It’s the smaller ones we must look out for because they feel the need to prove themselves before other boars and sows.

Orvar. It is a warm day so I couldn’t get any photo where they had closed their mouths πŸ™‚

Today eleven years ago I almost lost my dog and all the puppies she was carrying, almost everything went wrong during the two days she tried to give birth to the puppies and to make a long story short we had to go to a vet clinic rather far away to save my girl Erna and hopefully rescue her puppies too. It almost worked, Erna survived and so did four puppies but four died. Two of those puppies and the only surviving today lives here and I call them Orvar and Hector. I also call them “Are You totally deaf” and “You must be the most disgusting dog ever eating that thing” πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Old Erna was anything but a good mother, she wanted nothing to do with them but she did allow them to feed. She rather quickly decided that it was something wrong with Hector and made his life a misery as soon as she could. She wasn’t kind to him until she was ten years old, Orvar did nothing wrong and if he actually did she punished Hector. To be honest, we all realised that Hector was a bit odd because he just can’t interact with other dogs. I’m pretty sure he’s a bit autistic, very smart but sort of living in a world of his own. He doesn’t like to be hugged but he does like that I rub my head towards his πŸ™‚

Orvar on the other hand is the kindest dog there is but he sure hasn’t all the horses in the stable πŸ™‚ All canoes are manned but no one paddles in the same direction if You know what I mean πŸ™‚ But he does understand his brother and he is a master of searching for things even if I’ve never taught him to do so. Once he found the neighbors dog within ten minutes even if they already had been out searching for him for several hours. He can also hold a grudge longer than anybody, human or other animal, that I know of πŸ™‚

We’re having a wonderful summers day here, around 22C (72F), sunshine most of the time and a light breeze to keep the flies occupied with something else than me. They also need to stay alert because of the wast numbers of troll spindles, or dragonflies as You call them. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this many here. Some are so tiny and others really big but few stay still long enough for me to get a good photo of them I’m afraid.

The guys that knows how to fix our equipment at work came today but there just wasn’t time enough to actually fix all things that are wrong with it and that seems to be almost everything πŸ™‚ One problem lead to another and so on. But they did fix it so we can continue to paint on manual settings until they can return again, hopefully within a few weeks. But now we’re so far behind in the production that I must work overtime next week. I wanted to do it tomorrow but refused to do it when it turned out that I would be the only one that actually knows how to do anything in my department. They like to bring in school kids and one person that knows how things works when we’re having overtime and that’s not gonna happen when I work overtime.

I almost overslept this morning. The dogs woke me up at 3:30 and we went back to bed when they came in again, I normally go up at 4:30 on Fridays and thought it was a bit too early to stay up until I went to work. I can’t say I fell asleep but I dozed of on and off until I started to wonder how much the clock really was, I did feel a bit too energetic and realised that it was 5 o’clock πŸ™‚ I am always slow in the morning but today I managed to give all the dogs, cats and myself something to eat at the same time and left for work at almost the same time I always go to work on Fridays πŸ™‚

We suddenly have summer temperatures again and that means it’s really hot in the factory. We shouldn’t be surprised but none of us expected this. So now we all are tired and a bit cranky πŸ™‚ It doesn’t help that my painting box/ machine flipped out totally yesterday πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Nothing works as it should and this high-tech machine now works like the old one we had, only on manual mode and since this is a high-tech machine it’s much trickier to work it on manual mode.Β
