It finally did what I wanted :-)

The wind is strong and every now and again the rain pours down, not the nicest of weather but I guess it somehow is good for nature πŸ™‚ So no walk today, I didn’t feel like getting soaking wet and we didn’t take any walk yesterday so the dogs aren’t too happy. Well Nova doesn’t mind, she stood waiting by the door as soon as she came in to the garden when I came home from work. They can go out any time they want to but so far none stands by the door πŸ™‚

Even the one that has problems surviving in this climate gives me one bud this year. It needed two mild winters to be able to do that.

They had predicted that we would get really warm weather already today but that doesn’t seem to happen at all, it will get better though but there won’t be any record-breaking temperatures πŸ™‚ I was looking at the real-time lightning site today and there was a huge thunderstorm area from northern France in to the Benelux countries, Germany and Denmark. lightnings hit the ground every minute when it was as worst. I do like a good thunderstorm but that was too much even for me πŸ™‚

I finally managed to convince my printer to print the text in black and it managed to print out the text I wanted and then I ran out of black ink πŸ™‚ I don’t have Word in this laptop where I have the document I wanted to print out so I tried to change the text to blue (because it continued to refuse to print with black ink in the beginning) but since I don’t have Word I just couldn’t change the original text to blue and the printer refused to write anything else than black. I even tried to change places with the two colors but they had made that impossible, of course πŸ™‚ Now I must remember to buy black ink before I need the printer the next time.

It is time to make me something to eat and then I think I’ll see if there’s anything to watch on tv. I told You I had Fox channel for free at the moment so I guess they’ll show an old episode of Numb3rs (as they write the name) but I also got a channel called Investigation Discovery. How odd it is, they only show murder investigations 24/7!!! It was interesting the two first episodes but after that it really just was gross πŸ™‚ Are people that interested in murders and nasty details of how they were committed and how on earth was the relatives thinking when they accepted to participate in a program like that?

  1. Christer,
ID as they call the murder channel does have an interesting program or two like 20 20 and 48 Hours on in the evenings. The forensic science part I find interesting as they solve really old cases from when they didn’t know how to test for DNA.

Fox has a few good programs. They used to have many but seem to have gone downhill. I have a couple of new stations but all they show are old westerns and old situation comedies, so old some of the comedies are from the late 1950’s.

Boxers don’t tend to be rain dogs, but Gracie doesn’t mind light rain. The pouring sort she avoids as long as she can.

    Enjoy your evening!

    • Hi Kat!

I think they might show diffewrent programs on the both sides of the ocean, I have at least not seen any of those two You mention but I will keep my eyes open if they show up.
Fox mostly show ten to twenty years old criminal programs here, Numbers and Crossing Jordan is on almost always πŸ™‚

I wouldn’t mind seeing those old sitcoms here, I’ve probably seen some here when I grew up πŸ™‚

Heavy thunder is predicted for the night, the one that was so bad down in Europe seems to have travveled fast. Only Sune really wanted to go outside several times this afternoon, the rest only when they really needed to πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!

Hi Christer! We are due some rain starting tonight and then apparently thunderstorms tomorrow. More rain on Thursday then we get cool again. Currently its 23 degrees out but the wind has kicked up again. Its never not windy this spring. I just refuse to watch any program that is violent! πŸ™‚ Sometimes I think the world can’t be that bad and it must be all actors pretending. At least that’s what I hope. I see enough sadness at the hospital I can’t watch sad shows. I only watch our weather channel and Coronation Street πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ :). I clearly lead a dull life and that’s fine by me. πŸ™‚ I love the pics today – especially the cows! I hope your evening went well enough!

    • Hi Dianna!

The thunder never arrived so no Hector trying to sleep behind my back all night πŸ™‚ but it has rained some today even if the sun ruled most of the time. I think we reached 14 as warmest today.

The world is much worse than those shows show I’m afraid, they are only scratching the surface. It was interesting for a few programs but then it was just terrible to be honest.

I’m not sure they show Coronation Street here any longer, Emerdale farm however is still big πŸ™‚

      Cows are never wrong πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!

  3. beautiful photos! I’m with you about the murder shows, American tv is flooded with that type of show and its all rather disturbing, I find we are reaching for DVD’s more and more often, rewatching movies we have seen many times,

    • Hi Laurie!

I can think one or two programs can be interesting but they keep showing them hour after hour every day?!

I tend to see more dvd’s too but tries to find new ones I haven’t watched even if there are some I can see over and over again πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

hi christer! i sure hope we get some rain. we are sooo hot and my A/C broke so i am really not very happy here right now. i went to a nursery this afternoon and bought more woodland perennials. i can’t wait to get them in! i think i am going to buy a couple new trees too. i haven’t added to the gardens in a long time so this is exciting. joyce

    • Hi Joyce!

Lots of rain here so now the second barrel is half full πŸ™‚ I need new gold fishes πŸ™‚

I’ve finally understood how awful it must be living without an AC in Your climate. The hottest days last year that still was much cooler than Yours were awful here and I wouold have loved an AC at least during the nights.

I sow a lot of trees now days and when it comes to perennials it is the woodland I try to fill as much as possible πŸ™‚ It is tricky to find new places for trees now so I guess I’ll have to consentrate on te woodland from now on πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!

    Hi Christer,
    Love the leaf skeletons.

It’s really annoying how one cannot print anything in color when the black ink is empty. They say it’s because the black is used with the three primary colors to make shades. If I’m printing a picture, I can see why that would be important. If I’m printing text, it’s not as critical. It should let me make the decision.

It was rather hot here yesterday. Into the 80’s F. I had spent the day before yesterday outside doing yard work. My side yard was just a bunch of grass. Yesterday I went out there again and the whole side yard was full of white violets. Poof! Like magic.
Today was very cloudy but in the upper 70’s. Nice for walking around and doing more yard work. I cut bittersweet vines. I thought my poor little saw was going to snap in two. There are some very large vines back there. I’m not finished with them yet.

    Enjoy the day.

    • Hi Caryn!

I do like those skeletons! Not many left now though since the new green is taking over again.

Yes why can’t they let us take the decision?? If I want it blue I should be able to get it blue! I agree, it is one thing when it comes to photos but this is just plain text.

It’s always fun to be surprised like that πŸ™‚ I found a purple violet where I used to have my pond πŸ™‚ No other kind of violet grows even close to there so I did get pleasantly surprised too πŸ™‚
Lots of rain here today even if the sun ruled for most of the day, the thunder never came close to us, it turned and went over the most soithern parts of this country instead πŸ™‚

Our bittersweet is another species and one we like to have in our garden πŸ™‚ It is a vine too but not even close to how biog Yours can become πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

If your bittersweet is nightshade, I have those too.
The big vines I have are the oriental bittersweet, Celastrus orbicularis. I just discovered that there is an American species, Celastrus scandens, that is just as pretty and very well mannered. The other one is a real rude plant. When I look at my back yard I can see the roots from the vines have extended far out into the surrounding area. One of the roots is 2 inches thick and it’s nowhere near any of the vines. When I got far enough back to see the vines themselves, I was shocked that they had grown so thick so fast. Some of them were 3 or 4 inches thick and twisted around each other all the way up into the tree that they are trying to surmount. My cheapo pruning saw can’t handle them. It bends as I’m sawing. I need a chain saw except I’d probably chop something off myself while I was trying to chop vines. πŸ™‚

        May 6, 2015 at 7:26 pm

      • Yes our bittersweet is Your nightshade and our nightshade is another close relative to our bittersweet πŸ™‚

Sometimes I’m glad that some plants can’t live up here inthe north πŸ™‚ Well at least as it doesn’t get warmer πŸ™‚

I have my electric chainsaw and yea it is very easy to chop of mor things that the things one want to chop of πŸ™‚

  6. Love your pics today, Christer. What’s the difference? Much brighter and sharper – is it just the weather there that makes the difference, or is it another new camera? 70s and 80s here now every day, but lots of rain and wind. Really having a nice Spring, and a long one for this part of the world …
My work printer won’t print in black if it’s out of yellow ink – go figure. I can’t ~

    May 6, 2015 at 1:46 pm

    • Hi noraannrodriguez!

It has to do with thelight, if the day is bright (even if the sun doesn’t shine) the photos becomes brighter and most likely sharper since it is easier to focus on bright days πŸ™‚ I always write when I use any other camera than my Nikon 5100.

Fairly warm here today, lots of rain butthe sun shone for most poarts of the day. Rather nice when it didn’t rain.

Printers seems to be the ones that is in charge of our lives πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ At least I finally managed to get the text printed in black but now I need to buy more black ink instead πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.
