It’s cold outside.

I woke up to a foggy morning, with frost! Too bad I had to drive to work because the light was fantastic when it became strong enough. I did take a few photos at work but I haven’t moved them to my computer yet. I can mail them to myself which is the easiest way but I never remember to do it πŸ™‚ I did try Bluetooth a few weeks ago and that was more or less a disaster πŸ™‚

They have stopped hunting now, a neighbor herd some shots yesterday and no one was out in the forest today.

I placed the phone right beside the laptop and both it and both started to search after each other. It took twenty minutes until they found each other πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The distance was less than two inches and still it took that long. When my phone finally started to transmit the photos I’ve chosen only one managed to arrive to my laptop πŸ™‚ I blame of course windows 8 even if it most likely has absolutely nothing to do with it πŸ™‚

They say we’ll have much the same morning tomorrow and perhaps on Saturday too. I do like the fog when I don’t have to work, I’m not that fond of it when I need to drive around in it πŸ™‚ especially not when we have frost and the roads might be a bit slippery. In my mind, all the way to work, I see how big animals run out in front of my car and even though I do what I can to stop the car I fail and hit the poor animal. Guess if I drive extra carefully mornings like these πŸ™‚

My car still acts a bit odd now and again so the garage has decided they need to drive around in it because they can see that things doesn’t work as they should when they check with the computer but they can’t see why and it seems that there are several different thing on the car that can cause this problem. So I’ll drive there on Monday morning and take their car to work. I think this is a better solution that to change each and every thing that might be the bad part, with my luck it would be the last part they change that would be the broken one πŸ™‚

It is time for something to eat and I think I’ll have cocoa with it. I have been thinking of starting a fire in the stove but I don’t have much fire wood here in the kitchen and I really have no wish to go outside to chop some more, it is cold outside πŸ™‚

Hi Christer! What beautiful pictures!! Don’t you just love the light when it gets like that? πŸ™‚ Speaking of computers and technology in general, that would be me too blaming everything else but the user for errors. I never get anything right at home with electronics, I just press buttons until something happens then I usually get in trouble for that πŸ™‚ but it works (that’s my answer for everything)! πŸ™‚ I have sent you a picture of Karma – updated. Tell me what you think. We are having a lovely week of weather – today rained a bit but its pleasant and we are to get down to -4 tonight but that’s ok. Tomorrow we are going to a corn maze after supper (better in the dark) and pick pumpkins. I only got 5 Jack Be Littles and 1 warty goblin which isn’t orange at all but still green. Oh well, next year I have a different plan in mind for my pumpkins! Have a good evening!!

    • Hi Dianna!

I do like that light and tryto take photos that way as often as I can πŸ™‚ Early mornings and late evenings are best.

I’m pretty sure I have nothing to do with this problem so I blame windows πŸ™‚ I am a bit more patient than You though and try to fix things methodically πŸ™‚

      She is a beauty!

Cold night here today and both frost and fog again, not fun to drive in but very beautiful πŸ™‚

I only got one tiny giant pumpkin this year and they haven’t started to sell any in the store yet but they should start next week if they want to sell any. I’ll buy at least two or three this year. Pumpkins aren’t any big thing here yet but the bigger Halloween gets the bigger pumpkins will too. Our summer is just too short most of the times to get big pumpkins I’m afraid.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  2. Christer,
The cold is coming and should be here by the weekend when it will get down to the low 40’s. That’s quite a drop from the 60’s we’ve been having.

As always, I love your pictures. The colors are lovely. I’m glad the hunters are gone. It would make me a bit nervous going through the woods. The Blue Hills Reservation is actually in the city. This year they are allowing deer hunting for the first time in many years. The deer population is eating its way through the reservation so they need to thin the herd. The paper said the walkers who use the reservations will be given orange vests. Good luck to them!!

    Have a great evening!

    • Hi Kat!

We had both frost and fog this early morning, very beautiful but not fun to drive around in πŸ™‚

I stay away from the forest when they are out there, I don’t want to disturb them and they don’t want to shoot me πŸ™‚

I would never trust an orange vest to save me from being shot πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I guess the hunters won’t be in there for very long so why don’t they just stay away from the area rather than risking their lives? I know I would πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  3. Hmm. talking about computers. I usually read your blog on my phone but tonight I’m on my laptop and your blog is HUGE!
your photos fill the whole screen.
    But that’s a good thing.
    πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚
    Good luck with your car!
And it’s getting cold here too.
Tomorrow night it’s supposed to drop to 30 degrees.
There goes all of my flowers!

    • Hi Cindi!

Yes they do get a bit big πŸ™‚ but the next size is really triny for some reason and I want bigger photos πŸ™‚ They do get a better size if You click on them though.

Thank You, I need it now πŸ™‚

30, so warm and nice πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ it fell way below that here last night and it doesn’t reach even 50 during the day. The last of my flowers said good bye during last night I think πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  4. Wow – don’t know where you commenters live, but here on the Texas Gulf Coast we’re really into Indian Summer, emphasis on Summer. Tonight about 53, but high today of 92. We are ready for some cooler temps, but -4 and 30? Not yet, and maybe never, for me, thanks! My blood is too thin, and I’m southern-ized.
Love the leaf close-ups, Christer. You have given me so many terrific background for my computer – right now I have a spiderweb close-up, ready for Halloween.

    • Hi Hermit’s Sis!

Most of them live north from You in the US or in Canada. I think I live most north of us all though.

I think I would love Your winter temperatures but Your summer temperatures are a bit too hot for me πŸ™‚ We were lucky to have a warm winter last time and I hope we’ll get it this time too but the chances are slim πŸ™‚

I’m glad You like them πŸ™‚

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

    Hi Christer,
I love the orange leaves. My sugar maple is just starting to turn at the very top. There are black walnuts covering the lawn.

It sounds like your mechanics are doing the horse vets version of nerve blocking to find out exactly which leg joint is making the horse lame. They start by numbing the lowest joint, trotting the horse out and if it’s still lame, they numb the next joint up the leg and trot the horse out again. They keep moving up the leg joints until the horse doesn’t limp and then they know. I once assisted a vet with a race horse. He blocked every joint right up to the shoulder before the horse trotted out soundly. As you say, it was pretty near the last part. πŸ™‚

I email my phone pictures to myself and they show up in a minute or two. I’ve not tried bluetooth downloading so I can’t comment but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was Windows.

Today is cool and it will get cooler still. I’m surprised my heat has not come on today. There’s no sun and it’s around 50ΒΊF. Usually the house gets cool enough for the heat to kick in when it’s like this. Must be that the chicken stock I’m making in the crockpot is keeping the house warm. πŸ˜€
I suppose I should think about pulling out some cooler weather clothes. I’m still wandering around in summer stuff. I dislike clothing changeover season. All that storing away and re-storing and thinking that I should probably toss most of what I have from last winter because it’s old and ratty and unsuitable for public display. But it’s comfortable! So it remains and the public be damned. πŸ™‚

    Enjoy the day.

    • Hi Caryn!

That is a magnificent orange color and we should have more of it I think.

You’re right πŸ™‚ They think they know what the problem is but then I tell them of how the car behaved the latest time and then they get a bit unsecure again πŸ™‚ I can only wait and hope they numb the right part early πŸ™‚

The problem with emailing is that my email in the phone tends to make the photos tiny πŸ™‚ I can’t blame windows for that though even if I would like to πŸ™‚ It might be a settings problem and I need to look at that because I took some more photo with the phone this morning.

You must have a terriffic house if the crock pot is enough to keep the house warm πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ We didn’t reach 50 today even now when the sun shines and the night was pretty cold so my radiators are working right now. I could go outside to chop more fire wood but I just don’t have the energy for it, I’ll do it tomorrow instead πŸ™‚

Being comfortable goes before anything else here πŸ™‚ I must look like a homeless man to people who doesn’t know me and just sloppy for those who do know me πŸ™‚

      have a great day!
      Christer.
