I could hear it roar.

Do You remember the old barn ruin with the spruce that grew in the old window? This is all that remains of it now. We don't know why the owner tore it down and we don't like what he did.

The storm passed slightly more north than they had predicted so I could hear the wind roaring when I woke up during the night. I always sleep well when I hear the wind roar but feel that it doesn’t reach my cottage so I fell asleep immediately again. It calmed down fast here though and I couldn’t feel any stronger winds when we went out on our morning walk.

They’re saying that we’ll get sunshine this afternoon and I have actually already seen some when a big gap in the clouds flew by. I can see some smaller gaps in the distance too so who knows, they might actually have gotten the prediction right this time 🙂 I’m hoping the sun breaks through before we go on our next walk, even though it is fairly warm outside according to the thermometer it still feels a bit chilly.

Warmer days like these, when we’re somewhere between autumn and winter brings out the flies that are sort of hibernating in springs that always can be found in old tree houses and unfortunately those flies tend to find their way inside the homes. Thankfully it’s not the annoying or biting kinds, these just wants to go outside as soon as they can. Still, some always remain inside and desperately flies around hitting the ceilings when I turn out the lights.

I have spiders in my home and they are all very welcome and I can hear how the flies fly around until they get caught in the webs and desperately tries to get away. Naturally they can’t and even if I like spiders and dislike flies it still feels a bit sad knowing the awful end these flies will meet. But then again I do feel happy that my spiders won’t starve or eat each other 🙂 So every morning when I wake up my home is fly free and it all starts all over again the same evening if the day has been fairly warm.

It looks like the sun is breaking trough big time now so I think it is time for another walk, as soon as we get home again I’ll do the laundry I always do on Sundays. I can see I need new socks so I better remember that when I go to the store next time.

    Hi Christer,
Well, I don’t know what to say about that barn. I remember seeing photos of it but don’t remember how it looked. Maybe the owner tore it down because it was dangerous to leave standing? Or he’s going to do something with the old wood? Or the piece of property it was on? Lots of reasons, I guess.

It’s sunny here but the temperatures have returned to almost November normal. It’s only 45ºF now and will only get into the low 50’s. But it will be a sunny, almost normal November day which is not usually normal for November. To me November is the long dark tunnel into winter. So far it’s been a sunny, warm tunnel into winter. 🙂 Climate Change for the win? IDK.

    Time for my breakfast.

    Enjoy the day.

    • Hi Caryn!

No it wasn’t dangerous since the walls were as highest 6 feet, there was no old tree left, well nothing one could use anyway because it was all rotten and the only thing they’ve done is to build a tiny hunters lodge that only fit four people at the same time 🙂 🙂 🙂 I guess he just thought it looked ugly while we others saw the beauty in it. I do miss taking photos of the spruce growing in the old window.

It is still around 50 here during the day and not much cooler during the night. It’s absolutely calm right now but the wind will return already tomorrow but the predictions now says the wind will be much weaker, hopefully they’ll change it to a weak breeze before tomorrow morning 🙂

I see November much the same as You do and it is usually raining or snowing a lot. I think we can thank the climate change for a much nicer November 🙂 They think we up here might be the ones gaining on the climate change but I guess I’ll never be able to have a mango tree in my garden 🙂 🙂

      Have a great day!

Hi Christer! Strange that he tore the old barn down! I wonder why…unless he’s going to build a new one? Humans never cease to amaze me! 🙂 Today is a lovely day – a bit blustery but the sun is out and we should get to around 11 or 12. But…we are expecting a Colorado low (weather term) by Wednesday so we will see snow for Remembrance Day. I hope is doesn’t stay….Christmas lights are being put up at my house today – sounds like Santa is on the roof but its only my husband 🙂 There’s Teodor having a good scratch! 🙂 I have made waffles for breakfast and borscht for the week. Next up some spice cookies. Then off to the puppy park for more introductions. Have a good evening!

    • Hi Dianna!

Yesd I think so too and I know he won’t build a new one, he is just interested in the forest and is no farmer of any kind.

We did get lots of sunshine just after I had written this post 🙂 No snow in sight here though but we might get frost tonight because the temperature has already fallen to just above +2,5 and it’s not even 7pm yet.

I don’t think anyone here have waffles for breakfast, it is more of a dessert thing here but I have to say it sounds delicious 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.

  3. Too bad about that old barn being torn down and if you do find out why the owner tore the barn down, please let us all know.
No waffles for breakfast? Here, you can find them in many hotels that have breakfast and it’s one of Grenville’s favorite breakfast treats!

    • Hi Beatrice!

Yes it’s a shame and I will tell You if I ever get to know why he did it.

No, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of anyone having waffles for breakfast here 🙂 not even pancakes to be honest 🙂 Both are seen more like a dessert here unless one fries some pork or bacon to the pancakes because then they are seen as a dinner 🙂

      Have a great day!
      Christer.
