I follow the American primaries with interest.

Today have been just as exiting as watching paint dry but I did manage to get some photos on our walk after work! I did have to brighten them up a bit, except for the two last ones so You could see how dark it really was.

Nothing much has happened news-wise so I’m following the American primaries as much as I can. Both sides are veryย interesting to be honest but the republican is really! interesting ๐Ÿ™‚ I guess You all know that if we could vote for the American president here in Europe there would never be a republican president. Last election (according to a huge survey I can’t remember the name on) around 88% of the European population would have voted for Obama and here in Sweden I think it was over 95%. So even most of our most right wing people would vote for a president from the democratic party.

In most parts of Europe we don’t mix politics and religion and that I think is what most scares us about American politics, right wing politics that is. I think most of us thinks it is nice that You have a faith but that doesn’t mean You have the right to force Your beliefsย to control my life. Freedom of religion doesn’t mean the freedom of oppressing people with other believes. My personal thought is that religion should never rule the people of a country because power corrupts and who is to decide what interpretation of the religion is right?

It is time to make something to eat and then I’ll most likely fall asleep in front of the tv.

  2. Hi Christer,
You need to save that double triple exposure. It’s great. ๐Ÿ™‚

American politics have been really raucous many times in the past. It’s just that I wasn’t there to have to listen to the BS.
I suppose when one considers that quite a number of Europeans who came here way back were fleeing religious oppression by their various governments, it’s not surprising that we have an overload of fundamentalist types. Of course, the very first thing these immigrants did was to impose strict religious rule over anyone in their colony.
In later times there was the Second Great Awakening. There’s a huge area of central and western New York that was referred to as the burned over lands because of all the religious fire and brimstone fervor that went on there. That’s where Joseph Smith came up with the Church of Latter Day Saints or Mormons. It’s also where a lot of other reform movements like abolition and women’s suffrage got started. There’s good in everything, I guess. :/

Today was meh. In every way. I got nothing done and I don’t care that I got nothing done. ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy the political show and the evening. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Hi Caryn!

I have all film photos on cd’s ๐Ÿ™‚

I do find American politrics very interesting, it does affect us all so one better follow what happens. All politics are dirty, especially here in Europe! To be honest, it is getting worse and worse here and the brown ghost is unfortunately very much alive again. It is however never as interesting as Yours ๐Ÿ™‚

I didn’t know the second awakening started in New York! It is interesting that so different movements started at the same place.

I got home early today. We washed things for another factory and since we wouldn’t paint anything more today I thought I just as well could go home and take a walk with the dogs before the sun sunk.

I watched the republican counting live this morning ๐Ÿ™‚

      Have a great day!

    Christer,
I am disgusted by the Republicans especially Trump. He would be a total embarrassment as president. I agree about the right wing conservatives. They scare the heck out of me. I live in the bluest state,, and I am going to take a republican ballot just to vote against Trump. Here if you are registered to vote as a unassigned voter, an independent voter, you can choose to vote in the primaries for one party or the other. Usually I choose the democratic ballot but not this time.

The democrats seem to be running a cleaner campaign with no name calling or accusing each other of lying.

It is raining now and almost one so I’m ready for sleep.

    Have a good day tomorrow.

    • Hi Kat!

I don’t think anything can stop Trump to become the republican president candidate, I watched the counting live this morning and he just crushed them ๐Ÿ™‚ The republican party has a big problem though, they have all been insulting almost all but white so I doubt any non white would vote for any of their candidates, especially not Trump.

European politics are worse than Yours to be honest, the brown ghost isn’t a ghost any more, it is very much alive.

Sunshine big parts of teh day here and we’ll get more of it the rest of the week they say.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  4. Christer –
What you are espousing as your political views on religion are exactly what we in the Southern US are saying, but we’re Republicans. Don’t follow Obama, who threw out the National Day of Prayer, but lets the Muslims come in for prayer in the White House. Don’t throw out every possible reference to Christianity in the schools and holidays, like Christmas and Easter, but force us to accept the Muslim 6 times a day praying in schools and offices. Either accept all or none, that’s it. Who do y’all think is trying to force religion down your throats? Which Republican candidate?

And Democrats?? Either a socialist or someone who is being investigated for lying to the American people, and thumbing her nose at the laws regarding email and confidential information? No thanks – not in the America I know and love! No lying, Kat?? Really? Have you really listened to Clinton’s “I never said that”? As for the wall, it will never get built – not even Trump can do that, and he’s certainly not said how it would be paid for. But we need to at least uphold the existing immigration laws. How about Sweden, or Canada? Tell me another sovereign nation who just opens their borders and lets people flow in with no questions asked or answered. Not any that I know of!

Sorry for the tirade, but I’m not going to get involved in foreign politics …

    • Hi Hermit’s Baby Sis!

Let me start with that I think all politics are dirty and especially the European. Your’s at least entertaining ๐Ÿ™‚ Over here the Nazis getting stronger and that scares me even more than any politician who brings in God in the politics.

My personal view is that religion should be banned when it comes to ruling a country and in the schools they should learn about all religions but no practising of any religion in any way. I hope You understand how I mean. No prayers of any kind to any god. Make those two places neutral and I tink lots of problems would go away (and yes I am christian, I’m a member of the Swedish Mission Church).

I watched how Trump crushed the others today and there’s nothing stopping him from becomming the republican president candidate. The problem for the republican party is that he has insulted so many minoroties that he won’t be able to get any vote from them. He’s paving the road for any of the Democrats to be honest.

You already know that I’m very much left to You when it comes to politics ๐Ÿ™‚ but I can see problems with both democrates too. We all know Hillary’s problems and I’m afraid that Sanders wants to do too much in a too short time to get anything done. People over here tend to forget that Your president must work with the both houses and I think he might piss off both republicans and democrats to be honest ๐Ÿ™‚ But since Trump has behaved derogatory towards most minorities in the USA I think it doesn’t matter which one of the democrats he’ll meet but I’ve been wrong before in my life ๐Ÿ™‚

No matter what, this year will be very interesting and very much entertaining for us on the other side of the ocean ๐Ÿ™‚ The politics on this side of the ocean however is just scary.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  5. That is a great multiple exposure, Christer. You are really having a great time using the old film cameras and in many ways I do miss them as well. I have an old film camera that belonged to my parents. It’s a Kodak Tourister and was quite popular in its time. I can recall borrowing it a few times when in high school.

American politics has become very interesting and although I am not completely sold on how Mr Trump would do as Preisdent, I can honestly say that none of the other candidates are very impressive right now.

    February 25, 2016 at 1:51 pm

    • Hi Beatrice!

Sometimes the double exposures are the best of allthe photos ๐Ÿ™‚ and just think of it, I get to take so many more photos than just te twelve the roll allowes ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Kodak made several rather good cameras and it is thanks to that company we could buy our won cameras by inventing the roll film!

I have to say that I have rather fun following Your politics, it is never boring to be honest ๐Ÿ™‚

      Have a great day!

      Christer.
