Sooty.

The first strawberry flowers are open in the forest now. There are no strawberries in the world that taste better.

Sorry but I’m really late again today, it is something with Mondays that slows me down 🙂

The "clean" road isn't that clean any more :-) but today they started to fix it again so I guess it will be covered in grass pretty soon again :-)

So I’ll come back tomorrow to write something. The weather has been the same today as it was during the weekend and it was almost frost this morning and it barely reached 10C (50F).

The forest owner has already planted new trees where they cut them down this winter.

Tomorrow they say we’ll reach 20C (68F) and it will drop some on Wednesday again. I’m not sure I like that 🙂

White lambs where ever I look now :-)

Suddenly this one shows :-) She's the only black lamb, her sister is the white one beside her.

It is time to make something to eat, I think I’ll grill some sausages.

Have a great day!

They normally only name the breeding rams when they register the lambs but they made an exception for this little lady.

Her name is of course Sotis (Sooty) :-) I think I'll get the chance to see her grow old, she is a favorite amongst us all :-)

    Hi Christer,
The only thing wrong with Monday is that it is not Friday.

I hope we get to see Sotis grow old. She has a bonnet on her head. Well, maybe it’s more of a Fascinator than a bonnet. It is a bit askew. 🙂

Today it was blowing a gale all day until now. Steady, hard wind that rattled the windows and set the dogs to barking. But the sun was out and it was warm enough though the wind made it uncomfortable to walk around for very long.

    Enjoy the day.

    • Hi Caryn!

      So true 🙂

I’m pretty sure we will, she’s the only one that they always talk about 🙂 Yes more a fascinator than a bonnet I think 🙂 Wind can truly destroy an otherwise nice day! It has been unusually calm here lately. There’s always wind but it has been rather weak.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

    • Hi Joyce!

We sing bä bä vita lam which is baa baa white lamb instead 🙂

Yes he was quick to replant this time, I guess he wants to beat the grass because he has had huge problems with grass suffocating his small trees. I’ll never see it fully grown that new forest but it will be interesting to follow it for as long as I live.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  3. Härligt om dom skulle spara just henne, alltså Sotis. 🙂 Hon var jättesöt! 🙂 🙂

Hi Christer! I think I missed yesterday’s post completely!! What an adorable little lamb and I love the name! 🙂 I am so glad to see the trees replanted – that makes me happy! Maybe you should consider getting a lamb for a pet? 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • Hi Dianna!

      She is 🙂

I can have a sheep in my garden if I want to, the owner said he gladely would let one grace here all summer. The problem is that I have quite a lot of deadly plants growing here and we’re not sure if a sheep would know to avoid it 🙂

      Have a great day!

      Christer.

  5. I miss living in the country. I keep thinking of getting some chickens..but..maybe not. That was such a small deer or appeared to be. At first I couldn’t tell what it was. No deer here but lots of other wild animals that have gotten trapped in the city that has surrounded them. I keep filling up the gutter by the street with water for the pair of Mallards that have adopted my yard as a home. You have so many wild creatures where you live. and the roads are just beautiful with everything turning green again. Oh…and the ducks are rather ..um..messy. I keep washing off the driveway..but it does little good. Their lake has reportedly dried up with our water shortage going on. Hope I don’t get fined for giving them water, poor things. Climate change is doing a number on us. I envy all your beautiful green, Christer! 🙂

    • Hi Mona!

I think she is a normal size roe deer (which is a rather small deer) but she was standing partly in the ditch so she looks smaller.

We actually have a Mallard couple in the swamp behind my garage 🙂 They are pretty quiet now so I guess they have small ones. Yes ducks are messy!!! The bigger geese are even worse 🙂 I once lived where lots of geese passed to this lake and they all seemed to aim at my car when they pooped 🙂 It was almost impossible to get rid of 🙂 🙂

You could fill a small bathtub, You know the small kind in plastic children bathe in. Every time You have to change the water, which would be quite often You just pour it out in a flower bed or close to trees, the best fertilizer You can find 🙂

We are amongst the few that seems to gain a lot from the climate change, prehaps a bit rainiuer during summer but warmer winters. Our growing season would be much longer and it wouldn’t cost as much to heat up our homes.

      Have a great day!

      Christer.
