It’s raining outside, it is one of those gentle summer rains that can be quite nice to be out walking in if one has agood raincoat or big umbrella. I have neither so I’ll stay indoors as much as possible as long as it continues. It started just after we had come home from our morning walk and will continue for several more hours they say.

It looks like my coughing has changed character, instead of attacks it now sort of is there all the time but calm enough to let me sleep for longer periods. Still we were up at 4am, I didn’t feel there was any use in trying to fall asleep again. Instead I sort of slumbered in front of the tv the rest of the morning. They showed something called Lucky Dog, it’s about a man who rescues dogs from shelters and place them in families, quite often with special needs and I’m pretty sure all of You in the USA have seen or heard about that show.

He’s really good and I like how he works with the dogs but still I just can’t seem to like him πŸ™‚ I don’t know what it is but there’s something about him that I obviously don’t like. That is very rare when it comes to me, that I just don’t like a person without understanding why. I could have understood it if there was something he did while training the dogs that I didn’t like but I think he’s great with them. Good thing there’s no risk I’ll ever have to meet him then πŸ™‚

Today will be a do very little day, no use in mowing the lawn since the grass is soaking wet, I might do some laundry already today but that’s it. I di have several books to read and also several dvd’s I can watch if I like to. Nova and Sune wants to do things but as soon as I open the door and they see and hear the rain they turn right back indoors again, they are bored and they blame me for it πŸ™‚

The fever is gone now but the coughing still stand strong, it woke me up at 4am and it’s no use to even try to fall asleep again so we went out for a walk. The morning was so nice and cool! The flies stayed calm and the birds were singing, lot fewer birds singing now, they are raising their younglings and have no need to sing any longer.

It wasn’t that bad working today, mostly because I worked in the neighbor factory. The paint box has a constant temperature of 20C (68F). The air I breathe however is cooler and much drier. I thought that would make me cough a lot but it didn’t, instead I barely could talk at all when I was finished for the day πŸ™‚ I was badly hoarse before I started to work but that was nothing compared to after πŸ™‚ It was nasty warm at my ordinary workplace though so I’m pretty glad that I’ll go to the neighbor factory tomorrow too πŸ™‚

I’m not sure which is worse, the fever with boiling/ freezing periods or the coughing with runny nose πŸ™‚ I’ve started coughing so bad that every single muscle, even those tiny in the scalp aches after one of those cough attacks and the runny nose isn’t especially fun to have either πŸ™‚

I didn’t get many hours of sleep last night and the few I got wasn’t any quality sleeping πŸ™‚ The coughing makes the sore throat even more so so every tim I tried to swallow the pain hit the brain and woke me up. I’ve spent the morning watching the film Avengers Age Of Ultron. A perfect film to watch when the brain no longer works πŸ™‚ The logical center in the brain doesn’t work anyway so nothing seems impossible to do πŸ™‚ There isn’t even anything odd having a Norse god as one of the main characters πŸ™‚

As I said yesterday, the evil guy in films like these must be truly evil, not a philosophical mumbo-jumbo character but heroes can be very different, they don’t even have to be good ones for us to accept them. It isn’t especially warm but the humidity made it a bit nasty to walk around. Downhill from now on.

DSC_0021 (3)

Just as nice weather today as yesterday, lots of sunshine, just enough warm and a nice breeze to keep us cool while being in the sunshine. From now on it will go downhill with the weather. I woke up before the sun rose today (which by the way was at 4:05 am) but since it is very bright long before the sun rise we went out on our morning walk. It was almost as chilly as yesterday but a worn down fleece jacket was just enough to keep me warm. Lots of birds flew around but most other animals seemed to rather take it easy a few more minutes. I could hear the ravens argue again and today I know why, crows have moved in on their area. They truly don’t like each other.

Ravens are much bigger and stronger than crows but crows are faster and more agile in the air so it looks like they manage to drive off the ravens and they are not happy about it. I’m pretty sure the ravens will get the place back because they often hang out in groups of several generations and as soon as the older ones can leave their nests the crows will be history. Nice to see them here for a while though, I like our crows.

It is our National day today but very few know why we celebrate it, to be honest we haven’t had a national day for especially long, today used to be the Swedish Flag Day. What we are celebrating is that on June sixth 1523 Gustav Vasa became our king. He was a tyrant that happily slaughtered the ones that had helped him to power, he also was the one making sure the first son of the ruling king would be the king to come. He had three (official) sons who all were more or less insane and all became king of this country. The oldest one for instance Eric 14, married his concubine and he was later imprisoned by his brothers and poisoned with arsenic put in his pea soup. His wife and children were moved to Finland but alive and not allowed to everΒ claim the crown.

The second reason is that we in 1809 got a new constitution which gave the king less power and the parliament more. The first reason is just stupid to celebrate since he was anything but a pleasant ruler but the second is a good reason but nothing we go out and celebrates on the streets πŸ™‚ They are trying to make this day to something big. like in Norway or the USA but most of us just enjoy the weather if it is nice πŸ™‚ The ones truly celebrating this day are either the extreme rightΒ or immigrants, an odd combination πŸ™‚

I don’t long for rain because it is now so dry in the ground that the lawn doesn’t grow and that I like πŸ™‚ Also, all puddles and most small creeks are now bone dry so that means fewer mosquitos and hopefully fewer biting flies too πŸ™‚ I’m not sure farmers like it this dry though but at the moment I really don’t care πŸ™‚

It has been a rather nice day so far, I worked in the neighbor factory for a few hours and when I came back to my normal work place very little was left to do so I left almost an hour early. I drove to the super market on my way home, the only reason I did so was because I wanted to buy more fire logs. I must say I was a bit surprised when they didn’t have any. Instead they had real fire wood in sacks, not big but very heavy. They don’t last as long as fire logs would but it sure smells nicer when the real wood burns and I think real wood burning gives away more heat than the logs. Compressed sawdust is perhaps a bit too dense so they burn more slowly.

DSC_0030 (12)

It has been cold when one walks out in the morning thinking that it’s really warm when it still is -3,5C (25,7F) πŸ™‚ The weak wind we had yesterday was gone but lots of the rime and snow that had been on the trees were gone, at least close to the village. It was a very different thing out on the bog. We went out here because no hunters showed up this morning and tomorrow will be too late since it will start to warm up rather much.

Today of all days I decide not to have the tele-photo lens. Can You see the little dark spot way back in the photo? That's a fox and it didn't run away for as long as we watched it even if it knew we were there. I guess it was really hungry.

Today I wanted to walk where we usually walk on the bog but had to take a small detour because of the deep snow that had accumulated amongst the smaller bushes. Someone with small feet had walked there recently but as I followed those tracks towards the island we always follow they suddenly stopped, they sort of started in the middle of nowhere πŸ™‚ It was a very pleasant morning and the dogs ran around everywhere but still close to me so I didn’t have to shout to get them to come back.

We had been walking for around 45 minutes when we came to the point where we usually turn back again but something told me to continue for a while and suddenly I started to recognise some fallen trees. I think I walked perhaps ten meters (much the same in yards) away from where I usually stop and suddenly I found my foot prints from last Sunday πŸ™‚ Instead of turning right I had continued towards north for around 45 minutes last week πŸ™‚ I realised that I had a very clear picture in my mind of how it looked ahead of me but not about how it actually looks from where I came πŸ™‚

In my mind I had open space on both directions but the truth is that the area where I came from is filled with lots of thin birches πŸ™‚ Now I know where to turn if I get the chance to walk there again this winter. So instead of walking back the same way we came we just walked back to the other side where we walked the last week. We could hear one or two dogs bark in the distance but I don’t think it was hunting dogs, these didn’t sound as if they were on a mission, more like they had loads of fun πŸ™‚ I also heard the same chainsaw we heard last Sunday.

I need to check that, I know I have gps in both this old phone and the new one so perhaps there’s a chance?
