It has been mostly cloudy with some rain today and a few seconds of sunshine too. The humidity is as high as it can get, around 99% and will stay like that until tomorrow night. I guess I should be happy about temperatures being rather low because 99% humidity and high temperatures are really nasty, now it will stay close to unpleasant as worst πŸ™‚

The weather predictions varies faster than the speed of light πŸ™‚ We might get lots of thunder and rain this weekend but it can also be only light showers and perhaps some sunshine too. I would like to mow the lawn this weekend but I won’t do that if the grass is wet. Too much work to clean out the mower during and after using it on wet grass. I would like to have one of those robot mowers, they are quite popular here but still a bit too expensive for my taste. Now it would work rather well in my garden since the two big hole diggers aren’t around any more. Nova and Sune are content in just eating the leafs of the dandelions and don’t dig up the roots πŸ™‚

It isn’t especially warm but the humidity made it a bit nasty to walk around. It was quite pleasant outside this morning, around Β 8C (46,4F) and the birds sang as loud as they could. What is quite pleasant in the morning isn’t necessarily pleasant in the afternoon, it wasn’t much warmer when I came home from work. High humidity, cloudy sky and warmish isn’t that nice to be walking in to be honest, it is the high humidity that sort of dampens the joy of being out walking. There are jutΒ΄ry groups in every country, people mostly working in the music business and then there’s the televoting. Last summer, I think it was, I bought a little machine that makes ice cream. Well that is a lie to be honest. It is two bowls that you put in the freezer until they are deep frozen and one lid with an electric mixer which rotates very, very slow. One put the batter in the deep frozen bowl, put on the lid and start the mixer. After around 5 minutes there’s something very similar to ice cream, like soft ice cream. Ona can of course make real ice cream batter but for two bowls only (one bowl is like one portion) that’s just too much work.

So instead I filled the bowl with yoghurt and it works really good. I put in a variety called Samoan which contains peach, kiwi, mango, pineapple and passionfruit juice. Normally that yoghurt is a bit too sweet but when frozen this way it becomes a bit towards sour instead, just perfect! I also bought a yoghurt with vanilla, apples and cinnamon and I’ll try that one later today. I am rarely at home when the ice cream truck comes to the village and if I don’t bring a cool bag when I’m at the grocery store any ice cream will melt before I come home so this is a pretty good solution.

Have a great day!

There were two too my big surprise.

DSC_0040

It didn’t look especially nice outside when I looked through the windows, a bit dark and dreary to be honest. I have to say it was actually quite nice when we were out walking even if it was around 0C (32F) but since there is no wind at all it is quite pleasant outside. Ok the humidity is sky-high but I can take that when it is a bit chilly.

My neighbor has this thing for tractors, he has just bought a new green one (too new to look interesting enough to photograph) so now I think he has twelve or is it thirteen :-) I can't say much though, I think I now have twenty cameras :-) My hobby is a bit cheaper though :-)

Beside the bird song not a sound could be heard. I had hoped to see a badger today but they always seem to have gone back to bed when we’re out walking. I can’t complain though since we saw lots of other animals instead today. First I saw a cat hiding in a ditch and managed to distract Sune so he would try to say hi to it, not all cats like that πŸ™‚

After that we walked in to a deer, she didn’t care much about us. She just stood there watching us pass by and then she continued to grace as if nothing had happened. Canadian geese came flying from all directions out to the fields to graze as well, we have many more here now than what we had when I moved here. We also saw a couple of Greylag geese flying above us and those were rare here back in those days.

We didn’t go far until I saw a fox. I tried to get as close as possible and at the same time tried to tell a more or less deaf dog to come closer to me without alerting it πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Nova just kept on walking like always so we didn’t get as close as I had hoped but I did get a few photographs of it anyway. To my big surprise another fox turned up when the first one ran away, so both mother and father fox were out hunting, that must mean the pups are big enough to be left alone now.

The creek was between us so at first it couldn't hear us getting closer.

Then we passed the creek at the same time I tried to tell Nova to stop and that it did hear :-) By the way! A hare passed straight in front of Nova yesterday and she didn't even look as if she wanted to follow it :-) Just a year ago she was determined to kill them all :-)

Playing fox cubs are the cutest thing there is and I once hired a summer cottage a bit north. There was a small village with two grocery stores! nearby (today it is surprising if a village has anything at all to be honest) and I had decided to walk to one of the grocery stores to get a few things I needed. On my way back to the cottage I suddenly saw five small fox cubs playing on the gravel road. I stood there for almost half an hour just watching them and I’m pretty sure mother fox was watching me πŸ™‚

The clouds are getting thinner and my aunt in Gothenburg just texted me that they have sunshine and 20C (68F) in the sun at 8:30 in the morning. So that’s what I am waiting for right now. I don’t trust our weather predictions but they sound pretty nice at the moment, sunshine the entire next week and they think we might reach 20C (68F) in the shadows by the end of next weekend, that would be nice especially since I have a long weekend then. Ascension day is on Thursday and it is a holiday here and I’ve taken Friday off πŸ™‚

It is impossible to say that we have boring weather today, five minutes sunshine five minutes rain and lots of strong gusts in between. The sun shone when I came home so we went out for a walk as soon as we could. I could see how showers were closing in so we didn’t walk as far as I had planned.

I wish I could say that the sky was dark blue but it is instead led blue rain clouds.

We almost made it all the way home when the rain started and with it the strong wind. It si hard to say that the rain fell since it flew sideways and I don’t think a drop hit the ground πŸ™‚ at least not until the wind stopped. As usual we took cover in theΒ beekeepers stable, it has saved us many times before.

I’m so glad it is Friday tomorrow, I was at the neighbor factory again today and even if it went much better than last time I still can’t pretend it worked brilliant πŸ™‚ It started with me bringing the wrong size on the hoses I was going to change today but thankfully the old ones didn’t break.

I have two different kinds of paint, one bright almost white and one dark almost black. The white one behaved as it should and I started to think I was going back to my ordinary work plcae rather early. The dark one however didn’t behave as it should. I have no idea why but I had to use a third more paint to finish the job and even if I had lots of thinner in it it still didn’t flow as it should.

We wentto the bog after work and was lucky to come home just before the rain started to fall. It was just a sort of heavy drizzle so it wouldn’t have been so bad being out walking when it arrived and it is much better than the snow that has been falling lately πŸ™‚ I have no idea how the weather willbe this weekend, they have changed it so many times that it can be anything really πŸ™‚

Even though the weather predictions said sunshine all day with no or few clouds it showed not to be entirely true. Yes we’ve had sunshine, every now and again and it did get reasonable warm too but the wind did its best to make it colder. So I fear what the weather might be like tomorrow since I’ve decided that the dogs and I will be out walking while they fix the brakes on my car. They say sunny and a bit cooler than today, does that mean we’ll get rain and bone chilling cold πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The walk after work was rather pleasant though since we were walking out of winds reach. We checked out how the “new” road was and the photos does lie some, it looks much better than it is. Ok, it isn’t meant for walking on even if that will be the main reason anyone will be there and I guess the timber lorry drivers really don’t care if it is a bit uneven. They had already placed some deforestation machines up there so it’ll be interesting to see how much that will be left.

Most of the road is still like it was before though, it is very close to the nature reserve so I’m not sure about how much the are allowed to change the environment there. The water level in the creek was oddly low and I wonder if the beavers have made a new dam further up-stream? I couldn’t go especially far because the ground was very muddy. I will however as soon as the ground has dried up some.

We also had a nasty wind all day, not that I noticed it much here before I went to work but I did notice it very well on the road to work πŸ™‚ It had also calmed down pretty much when I came home so the walk was really pleasant. Sune took a bath like always in the clean creek and Nova rolled around in the dry grass.

So I was sitting here in the kitchen looking at Facebook when suddenly the cottage got hit hard by a strong wind, the entire cottage trembled and suddenly the ky got all black and rain started to fall. The wind hit several times and I started to wonder if we could have a tromb nearby. A tromb is a small tornado which can damage houses if one is unlucky.

Β  The wind was so hard towards the door that I had problems opening it but I couldn’t see any tromb, doesn’t mean we didn’t have one though. Now it has stopped to blow but the sky is just as black and it rains some.

I wouldn’t mind that at all, especially if it is shining on Friday. That’s the day they’ll change the brake pads on my car. Today has been anything like spring like, it has been more like an autumn day. Cold, a bit windy and rainy. We have been lucky when going out though, only drizzle as worst. Still, I’m thinking of going to the wood shed to get some logs and start a fire in the stove, mostly to get rid of the dampness that has eaten its way in to the cottage.

I have a few plants in my cool cellar and I’m thinking of bringing them up so I can turn off the greenhouse lamp down there, it eats energy but is great for the plants. The problem is that if we get a setback how well can I cover them, they already have leafs. I’ll place them on the patio close to the cottage wall and that usually keep the frost away. The sunshine however, if we get some that is, is the biggest problem. Just like us plants need to adjust to it so they don’t get burned.

I left work an hour early because today is the last day we’re allowed to have winter tires on our cars, the studded ones that is. I have to go there anyway rather soon because it turns out that that the brake pads on the front wheels are no more. Yes we did take a walk but it wasn’t quiet at all, they are working with the road, not outside our cottages where they should have started but way in to the forest. More forest will be cut down so they need to make the roads so good that heavy timber lorries can drive there. It is the road that follows the creek upstream. I don’t like it at the moment but since all grass will be gone the risk of getting ticks will be much smaller so we will be able to walk there even during summer. Nothing bad that doesn’t bring something good with it. They’ll fix the road outside our cottages as soon as they have finished the work in the forest.

So far the day has been a bit chillier than yesterday, we even had some thin fog for a while but now the sun seems to break through the clouds and it feels warmer as soon as it does. We had a light rainfall during the night so everything smelled so nice this morning and it did help my seeds to get a good start. I wonder if they have spray painted that lion, I can’t remember it being so bright before. No one lives in that house now days and it is quickly falling apart.

We’ve been away almost all day, my dogs and I but I don’t think much happened here in the village during our absence, nothing much ever happens here to be honest. The only exception is when a villager blew up his garage unintentionally two years ago πŸ™‚ The garage was around a mile away and I stood in the shower on the opposite side of my cottage when I suddenly were tossed towards the wall πŸ™‚ He also had fireworks in that garage and they blew off every now and again all day long πŸ™‚

You might wonder if I brought a camera with me today and of course I did, I even brought two with me but both are the old kind so You’ll have to wait until the films are developed. I have by the way four more films that I mailed early this week and I think all four were B&W films. I do prefer color film but it is fun to try B&W too every now and again.

Normally I would sit here and think that the weekend is just too short and we shouldn’t have to work more than four days a week but today I don’t care, I had two days of vacation I didn’t use last year so I’ll take them tomorrow and on Tuesday. I could have saved them if I wanted to but as I said at work, I don’t know when I might hit a moose on my way to work and get hit in the head by its hooves and die and I really don’t like to have vacation days that IΒ haven’t spent left when I die πŸ™‚ The new vacation year started two days ago so I still have 25 days to spend this year πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

It has been quite pleasant.

DSC_0036 (8)

The day started out slightly foggy and drizzly, the fog gave up but the drizzle kept on until early afternoon. It has been warm though and the wind has been rather weak so it has been pleasant to take walks anyway. I had planned on doing some repotting of plants but instead a took a nap, an hour and a half long nap and the only reason I woke up was because of a telemarketer. I was actually quite happy she called so I finally woke up but not so happy that I bought anything from her πŸ™‚

I have tried to find any folklore about the beings and their activities at Easter but have found almost nothing, only the witches seems to have been active this holiday. I guess however they are out and about like always though even if humans were more concentrated on scaring witches. I did however find a lot of sites about the old Norse believes and can dig in to that if You wish to know more. The Norse beliefs (or Asa tron as we call it) is a growing religion here though even if few say it out loud yet. Almost all swedish names for the days in the week comes from the Norse gods. Monday and Saturday sort of linked to it too since Monday is the Moon’s day (it was pulled across the sky by the horse Rimfaxe) and the sun was pulled across the sky by the horse Skinfaxe).

Tuesday (Tisdag in Swedish) is Tyr’s day, he was the son Of Oden. Wednesday (Onsdag in Swedish) is Oden’s day. Thursday (Torsdag in Swedish) is Thor’s day (His name in swedish is Tor) and Friday is Freya’s day (She’s called Freja in Swedish), Saturday however has nothing to do with any beliefs, it is the day for baths πŸ™‚ Saturday is called LΓΆrdag in Swedish and to lΓΆga is to take a bath in old Swedish πŸ™‚

It is time to shave off all the hair on my head again, it doesn’t matter how much I wash my hair, I can still find powder paint if I scratch on my skull πŸ™‚

Instead I found the cranes just a few hundred meters (much the same in yards) away from my cottage. Unfortunately my camera preferd to focus on the trees :-)

They could use more spices.

No new photos today, allare at least a few days old.

No new photos today, all are at least a few days old.

I have to admit that the roads are much better than I ever thought they could be after such a long and heavy snow fall, ok they were nasty slippery this morning since the night had been a bit cold but they were clean from snow. They were even better now when I drove home even if it had snowed again during the day. The pavements in the village where I work where not that good though, so I took the car when I was going to the neighbor factory to paint today. I drove almost Β Β meters (much the same in yards) πŸ™‚

The day passed relatively fast but nothing much happened to be honest, things just worked as they should and I did try not to check the clock too often. I talked with the guy who delivers food from the restaurant to us in the factory. I asked if they couldn’t use more spices because even if the food is well made it doesn’t taste a thing. He told me that they weren’t allowed to use especially much spices since everyone should be able to eat it. Well, I said, You do have more spices on the food you serve in the restaurant (it always tastes good there) so why can’t You use that much on the food You deliver too?

He actually got surprised, he didn’t know that the food tasted so much different. I told him that if they wanted to deliver any food they really needed to change how it tastes because fewer and fewer people order their food from them now, they rather buy that nasty ready-made food from the freezers in the stores, You know the kind where one wonders if it is rubber instead of real food πŸ™‚ I doubt this will change anything but one can always hope πŸ™‚

I long for when they finally stay out all night!

All photos are from yesterday but one can't see the difference in the weather today. Snow, snow, snow.

All photos are from yesterday but one can’t see the difference in the weather today. Snow, snow, snow.

The snowfall started much earlier yesterday than they had predicted so I guess it’s not more than right that they got the ending of it wrong as well, it should have stopped this afternoon but it just keeps on falling and falling and falling. If the temperature hadn’t risen just above 0C (32F) during the day I think we would have gotten a snow cover at least 30cm (15 inches) thick. Oddly enough it wasn’t the snow cover that annoyed me most this morning.

I woke once again up to the nasty smell of cat poop filling up my home, at 4:10 am. I tried to ignore it but it is just impossible. I don’t know which cat it is but one of them refuse to cover their business when they are finished and that cat won’t live for long if I find out who it is πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It doesn’t take long to fix but the smell stays for hours and I was wide awake when I had flushed it down so there was no idea going back to bed. Guess if I’m tired now πŸ™‚

I had huge problems getting the dogs in to the dog house when I was going to work, not because the dogs behaved bad but because the lock had frozen so I couldn’t open the door πŸ™‚ After that I had to remove all snow from the car and there was lots of snow. So when I finally could start driving I was very late. I backed from my parking space out on te gravel road and guess if I was surprised to see that I almost had crashed straight in to my neighbor, the beekeepers car πŸ™‚ Thankfully he reacted fast πŸ™‚ I had to text him when I came to work and I promised that I would check next time I’m going to work so I won’t do the same thing again πŸ™‚

The rest of the day has been rather uneventful thankfully πŸ™‚ A bit slow too but rather that than any more almost accidents and frozen locks. The roads home were much better than I thought they could be when it has snowed as much as it has. I must admit that the world look beautiful now but I do hope for an early spring, not so much because of the warmer weather as for the fact that the cats never are indoors at night when spring arrives, I really don’t like waking up to that smell πŸ™‚
