I’m not sure which is worse, the fever with boiling/ freezing periods or the coughing with runny nose πŸ™‚ I’ve started coughing so bad that every single muscle, even those tiny in the scalp aches after one of those cough attacks and the runny nose isn’t especially fun to have either πŸ™‚

I didn’t get many hours of sleep last night and the few I got wasn’t any quality sleeping πŸ™‚ The coughing makes the sore throat even more so so every tim I tried to swallow the pain hit the brain and woke me up. I’ve spent the morning watching the film Avengers Age Of Ultron. A perfect film to watch when the brain no longer works πŸ™‚ The logical center in the brain doesn’t work anyway so nothing seems impossible to do πŸ™‚ There isn’t even anything odd having a Norse god as one of the main characters πŸ™‚

As I said yesterday, the evil guy in films like these must be truly evil, not a philosophical mumbo-jumbo character but heroes can be very different, they don’t even have to be good ones for us to accept them. In the Avengers films I don’t think there’s really a single good one, except for possibly Captain America, the rest of them are more or less unstable as best πŸ™‚

The evil ones need to be extra evil!

I did catch the sunrise this morning.

The dogs are bored, I’m at home and therefore we should be outside walking all day like we do on work free days. They constantly wants me to open the door and when I don’t follow them out they go inside again sighing highly πŸ™‚ It is however not the nicest of weathers outside even if it isn’t that bad either. Mostly cloudy with a strong wind and below 20C (68F) temperatures.

Yesterday I sowed the last vegetables in my vegetable patch. Red carrots, chard, broccoli and a few squash seeds. A bit late for squash but then again those plants usually give too much anyway so I think I’ll get just enough this year. I have plenty of green tomatoes but no ripe ones, we need a few days with sunshine to make them red I think.

The fever has sunken rather a lot so I hope it’ll be gone by tomorrow. It came back during the night for a while so I woke up every time I either froze or boiled and gave up at 4am and went up. That gave me plenty of time to watch dvd’s though πŸ™‚ So this morning I finally watched the last Hunger Games and the latest Star Wars. I liked them both but I have to say that Hunger Games did feel a bit slow some times but loved what happened before it ended.

They do have problems making the evil characters in the Star Wars films. Darth Vader and the emperor was really good but the young Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader was really bad and so was the bad guys in this film too. I think they tried to make then interesting but only managed to make them annoying πŸ™‚ The hero side however is really good but a good film needs a fantastic evil guy, one we all can hate and who is interesting and not someone we all want to die early in the film just because he’s so annoying, or perhaps pathetic is the right word πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I do hope they get more evil in the next film πŸ™‚

The rain poured down when we woke up and Nova just refused to go outside at all, Sune however loved it and stayed outside for quite some time. It isn’t especially warm but the humidity made it a bit nasty to walk around. I had my very worn down fleece jacket on, not because of the eventual rain that would fall or because it being a bit chilly, I wore it because of the flies that were nasty yesterday evening. They weren’t this morning, they barely showed up at all πŸ™‚ So I did regret wearing the fleece jacket to be honest.

We’re having a chilly, windy but mostly sunny morning here. It is sweater weather even if one walks in shelter of the wind but kind of nice anyway. It is however not that nice that I’ll keep the kitchen door open for more than a few seconds. I've now used my mormors (grandmother on my mother's side) camera. It is a Gevabox that gives 8 photos on a 120 roll film. I really liked it but I guess I could be a bit biased since it was my mormors camera :-)

I’m so tired today but I don’t know why, usually this cold weather does the opposite to me. I fell asleep in front of the tv as soon as we had come home from our walk πŸ™‚ If it hadn’t been for the flies annoying me I would most likely have been asleep yet πŸ™‚ I guess it could be because Nova has kept on waking me up at 4am every morning this week. I would most likely have woken up shortly after that time anyway but it is something else to be woken up with the help from someone else. This is a roll with ISO 3200 so it is very light sensitive, nothing to be used on a sunny and bright day so guess if I felt lucky that morning we got that really thick fog :-) I still had a few photos left to take so I took them another early morning before the sun had risen too high. So here are three photos taken with my Hasselblad.

She had sown this one six months ago and I think I’ll have a good chance on keeping it alive. We don’t have any sunshine but it is fairly warm and low humidity makes it feel even better. The weak wind just makes it more pleasant so I really can’t complain today. I must admit that I never thought this day would be as nice as it has and still is. Not much sunshine but warm and a just enough cool wind to make it even more pleasant. The morning was warm enough but the humidity made me sweat like a pig, I was stupid enough to wear a fleece jacket, it is so worn that it gives very little warmth to be honest but it still was too much.

I did the laundry and everything dried within an hour. It’s almost a pity I didn’t have more when we have this weather πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I put the potatoes in the vegetable garden while the laundry was drying and noticed that the sand closest to the flowerbed beside was bone dry, no wonder my rhubarbs grow so bad there. So I watered the vegetable garden and also those flowerbeds where I sowed annuals this early spring. Lots of them are showing already so a bit more water doesn’t hurt.

I’ll bring out all my tree tomatoes (Tamarillo) and Naranjilla plants too today, tomorrow might become one of the warmest days ever in May, they predict that it’ll be 27C (80,6F) here! ( the record is actually 32,5C (90,5F set in 1892) That is a temperature we rarely reach during hot summers here πŸ™‚ It’ll be a joy to work in the factory beside the huge oven and washing machine πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The combination of nasty high humidity and temperature is nothing I look forward too.

I must also remember to buy sticky fly papers, yes it is the season of those little beauties πŸ™‚ The forest flies are already here to annoy me but still not that many that I feel the need to bring my mosquito hat. Lots of butterflies, bumblebees and the first big dragonfly or as we call them Troll Spindles. No hornets yet though, I do like those friendly giants.

High humidity, cloudy sky and warmish isn’t that nice to be walking in to be honest, it is the high humidity that sort of dampens the joy of being out walking. The weak wind there is doesn’t help much but the humidity has already sunken quite dramatically so it does feel better when sitting here in the kitchen with the door open. The clouds are thick but every now and again there’s a tiny rip in them allowing the sunshine to hit the ground for a few seconds at a time.

No rain is predicted for today so the grass might get a chance to dry up and I a chance to mow it. To be honest, the predictions change just as much as always so it might end up with a hurricane instead πŸ™‚ I won’t complain too much as long as we don’t get frosty nights, I’ve started to bring plants outside for the summer so frosty nights are a no-no from now on.

We walked in some high and wet grass this morning and that is tick paradise. I picked over twenty crawling ticks from both dogs and a few that already was sitting there drinking blood. Nast creatures and they aren’t even especially popular amongst animals as food. Most birds avoid them so it seems they are here on this planet top spread diseases and death. I guess that’s important for nature too, there would be too many animals around otherwise but I still can’t pretend to think ticks are something we really need πŸ™‚

I wouldn’t mind that at all, especially if it is shining on Friday. That’s the day they’ll change the brake pads on my car. It is no use in borrowing a car from the garage because I would come at least an hour late and I would have to go an hour early and since I only work half a day on Fridays it would be more or less like coming to work just to say hi and then leave again πŸ™‚ They only work half day on Fridays in the garage too.

If they haven’t finished on my car when we come back we’ll just take another walk. I have a few plants in my cool cellar and I’m thinking of bringing them up so I can turn off the greenhouse lamp down there, it eats energy but is great for the plants. The problem is that if we get a setback how well can I cover them, they already have leafs. I’ll place them on the patio close to the cottage wall and that usually keep the frost away. The sunshine however, if we get some that is, is the biggest problem. Just like us plants need to adjust to it so they don’t get burned.

I have to go there anyway rather soon because it turns out that that the brake pads on the front wheels are no more. Yes we did take a walk but it wasn’t quiet at all, they are working with the road, not outside our cottages where they should have started but way in to the forest. More forest will be cut down so they need to make the roads so good that heavy timber lorries can drive there. It is the road that follows the creek upstream. I don’t like it at the moment but since all grass will be gone the risk of getting ticks will be much smaller so we will be able to walk there even during summer. Nothing bad that doesn’t bring something good with it. They’ll fix the road outside our cottages as soon as they have finished the work in the forest.

I did however see several tracks from them and also from at first two foxes walking side by side and then from a third fox walking a yard beside the two. That was a stupid idea πŸ™‚ I don’t mind driving slow, especially when the road conditions demands it but the driver in front of me had some problems keeping the speed he wanted. It is very hard to keep the distance if the other driver changes speed all the time. It didn’t help that he (I write he but have no idea if it was a man or woman driving) had problems with the lights from the oncoming cars.

So as soon as he finally seemed to be able to keep the speed he suddenly almost stopped because of the lights or what ever reason he could find, then he suddenly drove rather fast just to almost stop again for what ever reason he had. It was impossible to pass him so I just had to try to adapt my driving to his. I felt so happy when it was time to turn of the high way again and thought that finally I would get rid of him. Turns out he was one of those that know nothing about turn signals, he turned too!

We kept on like this for a few miles and more cars were driving behind me and the road got worse by the mile and then he suddenly understood that we’ve given up trying to keep the distance so not only my car lights filled up his car but also the ones after me, he can’t have seen anything to be honest. I think I could have walked behind his car and still Β have problems not getting to close, so he finally stopped by a small road and let us all pass. I just barely made it to work in time even though I had started much earlier than usual. By the time I had stopped working all roads were just fine again but we still have lots of snow left. It might with a bit of luck melt away until Monday when we’ll get more again. This is typical April weather, just one month too early.

The fire is burning in the stove, not because it is cold but the dampness is eating its way inside my cottage. It is time to make something to eat and then most likely fall asleep in front of the tv, again πŸ™‚

Have a great day!

Now days they are so wimpish.

I don't think I've shown this and the four coming photos taken with the Hasselblad camera with the 16 photo cassette.

We didn’t even get close to how much snow they had predicted, instead of 12 inches we got around one and it never got especially cold either so the roads to work was anything but fun to drive on. I was pretty irritated that snow had fallen when we finally had gotten really good roads to drive on the garbage starts falling from the sky.

Almost all of it melted away during the day so the roads were quite good when I drove home again πŸ™‚ We’ll get more tomorrow however so I guess this was a short-lived happiness. No sun is predicted this weekend so I’m hoping for fog since the nights are said to be a bit chilly but days towards the less cold. I would like to say warm but I think that would be to lie a lot πŸ™‚

Nothing much has happened since Tuesday so I have very little to write about today. I rarely look back and remember things but I did suddenly remember an old fairytale written by the Danish author H.C Andersen, The Little Match Girl. They don’t write fairy tales like that any more, todays fairy tales are rather wimpish to be honest πŸ™‚ I remember reading his stories and the ones that the Grim brothers wrote down with lots of evil and violent deaths πŸ™‚

If one would read one of those stories to kids today one would most likely be reported for child abuse πŸ™‚ I must see if I can find some books with those old stories, many of them have faded away from my memories. I do understand that companies like Disney must change how the stories end, I doubt many children would like to see how the little mermaid dies and becomes sea-foam just because she couldn’t bring herself to kill the man she loved.

Not an eventful day.

Taken with my Rolleicord (and the coming three too). I do need more light when I take film photographs.

I have to admit that I have very little to write about again. Nothing much has happened at work and here at home very little happens at all πŸ™‚ I do get a little daylight when I come home from work though and it isn’t many days left until the sun stays up long enough so I still can see it here at home when I come home after work.

This one has an odd shape for coming from the Rolleicord but the film hadn't moved as it should so I cropped it some.

The days are sunny and fairly warm now and the nights are clear and fairly cold, perfect springwinter weather. Too bad I have to work when the weather is so nice. They say however that we will get that kind of weather during the weekend too and I do hope the mornings will be just as foggy as they have been all week. I have my small Kodak with me in the car every morning so with a bit of luck they’ll be good enough to show here when the film is developed.

The fire is burning in the stove and I’ll make some cocoa and a few cheese sandwiches. My favorite cheese for the moment is a dutch? one called Maasdamer. Not strong but full of flavors and it goes with anything, especially ham. Too bad I don’t have any ham at home πŸ™‚ I do however have sliced pineapple preserved in its own juice so I’ll have that afterwards.

I follow the American primaries with interest.

Today have been just as exiting as watching paint dry but I did manage to get some photos on our walk after work! I did have to brighten them up a bit, except for the two last ones so You could see how dark it really was.

Nothing much has happened news-wise so I’m following the American primaries as much as I can. Both sides are veryΒ interesting to be honest but the republican is really! interesting πŸ™‚ I guess You all know that if we could vote for the American president here in Europe there would never be a republican president. Last election (according to a huge survey I can’t remember the name on) around 88% of the European population would have voted for Obama and here in Sweden I think it was over 95%. So even most of our most right wing people would vote for a president from the democratic party.

This is the last photo taken today.

In most parts of Europe we don’t mix politics and religion and that I think is what most scares us about American politics, right wing politics that is. I think most of us thinks it is nice that You have a faith but that doesn’t mean You have the right to force Your beliefsΒ to control my life. Freedom of religion doesn’t mean the freedom of oppressing people with other believes. My personal thought is that religion should never rule the people of a country because power corrupts and who is to decide what interpretation of the religion is right?

This photo shows whythe Hasselblad was and still is such an expensive camera. When I've taken the exact same photo with any other camera all one has been able to see was dark, grainy photos showing nothing but black :-)

They’ve forgotten to scan one film though but that doesn’t matter as long as they have developed it and put it on the cd so I can watch it when it arrives, most likely tomorrow.

These three were taken with the same Hasselblad but with the 16 film cassette. They look more modern in their shape and allowes me to take 16 photos instead of 12.
