The Forbidden Forest.

You can thank me later :-)

Winter wonder land, so fun.

Winter wonder land, so fun.

I’ve done what I can to make winter leave northern America and most likely arrive here instead, I’ve shaved my head again πŸ™‚ The predictions says it will stay fairly warm and my hair just got too long now, it’s impossible to get rid of the powder paint on my scalp. Long hair and sweating sort of makes thee powder to concrete and that’s not nice πŸ™‚ You can all thank me later by sending expensive and luxurious gifts πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The little hair that will grow up in a week will be enough to keep my head warm just in case it does get colder again. The snow we got during last evening and night did stay and we still have some on the ground but it is melting fast now. The wind and relatively warm air do the job well. It’s no nice day outside though just because of the wind, as soon as one walks in the forest however it almost gets too warm so I walked big parts with the jacket open this morning. We walked where I didn’t think I would again since I can feel I’m not allowed there, the Forbidden Forest.

It didn’t fell that bad today but we did leave the area sooner than I had thought because suddenly the stench of wild hogs became very strong and we walked straight in to where they had planned to stay during the day πŸ™‚ They had left just before we arrived though, sometimes I’m glad I have to shout after my dogs, it does warn any wild animal that we’re on our way towards them πŸ™‚ We turned towards where the creek is and walked beside it down stream and followed it for a while. A fox had just passed where we had walked just a few minutes earlier, too bad I never got a chance to see it, just its paw prints in the snow.

and in to the Forbidden Forest we went.

Lots of fairly big ant stacks here.

My neighbors came out when we passed their cottage and told me they had been baking yesterday and wondered if I wanted some of it πŸ™‚ What a question πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ It was actually my favorite cake but I can’t for my life remember what it is called πŸ™‚ I had it in my head until I sat down and started writing this post πŸ™‚ It was delicious and just what I needed after our morning walk πŸ™‚ I’ll tell You what it’s called as soon as my brain starts to work again πŸ™‚ It is a cake I often buy when it is my time to buy something to the coffee on our weekly meetings in the painting department.

The cross-country ski world championship (and ski jumping) goes on here in Sweden right now. As usual the Norwegians dominate it and will most likely take most gold and silver medals as they always do. Needless to say cross-country skiing is gigantic in Norway and their skiers are seen more or less as semi gods. It’s fairly big here in Sweden but i slowly dying I think. It’s fairly big in Finland and Russia too but not in the rest of the world. However that doesn’t mean there isn’t any good skiers from other countries, Canada for instance has already two medals. I tend to sleep very well in front of the tv when they show it πŸ™‚

This is where the stench of wild hogs hit us, the dogs loved it, me not so much :-)

The laundry is done and is drying outside in the patio, the fire burns in the stove and it’s time for a pot of tea and a nap in front of the tv, cross-country skiing is on πŸ™‚

I'm glad the hunters never shot any fox :-)
